Yes it can work. but you can only use the audio feature of your iPod and not the video. Try to look for a cable with RCA (red/white) connector and a stereo jack on the other end. Connect the RCA cable where the cd changer connects and the stereo jack to your iPod.

you must have a cd changer via ai net it is just a screen controller not a cd player

did you hook up the video cable? and did you follow the brake sequence if so you have a bad unit

I've got an Alpine CVA1004 and use my ipod on the aux input of the headunit. The alpine-ipod interface was too confusing for me, with the ipod connected to the aux input, I just control the music from the Ipod, I find it easier that way.

move all power lines away from unit and connect all grounds to same spot

check the cables, it may be one color switched

lol i had the exact problem that you are having with my alpine. The solution is taking the blue cord that was inside the vehicle (forgot what cord it was) and actually connecting it with the other blue cord thats different makes the factory amp read the cd player and ta-da it works. crazy isn't it
