Door Hinge My door hinge has snapped, and I need to replace it. Just wondering how to get the old one off? There are two screws on the front, with 'star' screwholes. I have removed these, but the hinge still seems screwed in. Are there any other screws (eg inside?) I need to find, or do I need to brute force it?
Thanks,

Depending on the brand, this "may" be possible. Look for a mounting bracket area on the side you want to change to. Is so, have someone help you, two person job!

Hi this is what I would do.
1.buy a shim pack at any hard ware store (wooden wedges) cheap.
2.take one side of bottom hinge off, frame.
3.shut the door and use shims end to end like this >< Where needed to fit door, some on bottem ,one set on knob side and anoughter set on hinge side.At any rate where ever they are needed to leval the door in the frame.
4.buy some wooden dowels to plug frame holes, might have to drill screw holes larger for dowles.Drive dowels in and break them off.
5.swing bottem hinge in to place and screw hinge down. This should work and you may need a wood chissle or flat screw driver for modifacation where hinges seat. You may have to reseat both hinges or put shim stock behind the frame hinges to line up every thing.I hope something here will help and please feel free to ask any questions that you have and add any thing that will help me see this clearer. You will need a person on both sides of the door to drive the shims togeather to keep the door level.

Two screws hold the hinge to the frontplate of the machine which goes into a threaded nut welded to the panel (torque to 30/40 foot pounds or relatively snug).. just remove the screws and raise the hinge and pull forward..(keyhole slotted on)... then reverse to attach the new door...
Unplug the refrigerator and remove all food and utility bins from the doors. With the door open, remove the grille from the bottom of the refrigerator. Close the door.
Step 2 Remove the cover from the top hinge with the putty knife. Remove the three screws underneath, then remove the hinge. Take off the freezer door.
Step 3 Remove the three screws from the center hinge, then remove the hinge. Take off the refrigerator door.
Step 4 Remove the two screws from the bottom hinge, then remove the hinge. Replace with the new hinge and insert the two screws.
Step 5 Seat the refrigerator door on the bottom hinge and close the door. Fasten the new center hinge with the three old screws.
Step 6 Seat the freezer door on the center hinge and close the door. Fasten the top hinge and replace the top hinge cover.
Step 7 Replace the base grille, and plug the refrigerator back in.
Good luck in solving the problem with the solutions provided....
Front doors are attached inside the microwave at the top and bottom of the oven cavity. Top case has to come off using, likely, security torx screw drivers. Remove the top hinge. Remove the bottom hinge. Door falls off. Replace the front panel of the door. Reinsert the lower hinge with the door, close and latch the door. Holding the door firmly to the microwave, tighten the door hinge. Replace the top hinge. (On some units, both hinges need to be installed at the same time. Use masking tape to hold the lower hinge - makes it easier.)
The door is most probably out of alignment with the front shroud. Slightly loosen the door hinge screws and close the door firmly making sure it is fully and evenly seated into the shroud. Retighten the lower hinge screw but not fully tight. Retighten the upper hinge screw but not fully tight. Fully retighten the lower hinge screw then the upper hinge screw.
Remove the wire clamp securing rubber seal to front of washer, pull seal of front of washer, this will give you clear access to tjhe door hinge, ondo the 2 screws securing the door hinge, remove door ,and seperate the 2 door halves by removing the screws securing it together
Replace with new hinge, fit back in reverse order.

Remove two screws on top at front in order to remove plastic front vent
grill. Then the door lifts off pin hinges. Lay door flat on surface.
Plastic trim snaps off with gentle prying (start at bottom middle and
bottom hinge side). Then remove six screws holding notched metal
section with door latch. This piece will also snap out (several visible
clips holding it around edges). Then remove door handle screws, Replace
handle and reverse process to put back together.
Firstly if you haven't already done so remove the door and the old Hinge. You can do this by undoing the screws at the back that hold the top of the machine on and remove the top of machine. Now you will see a piece on the inside where the hinge screws into. Hold onto this piece and undo the screws from the outside. Carefully remove the inside piece (because I dropped mine inside and it took me an age to get it out!!). Now undo the screws on the door and pull it apart. Replace the old hinge and screw door back together. Now holding the inside piece back in original position screw the hinge and back onto the machine. (You might need someone to hold the door in place for you....it makes it much easier). Finally screw the top of the machine back on.
