You should be able to re set passwords in the bios by putting jumper on JBAT 1 terminal from pins 1&2 to pins 2&3 for a few seconds then back to pins 1&2, but you will have to set the time again etc.. But you may also find there is also a network log on password which is another story. Your Ratings are important

Sorry just in case you don't know the JBAT 1 terminal is on the motherboard, so remove the right side panel.

Where would I find the bios password for my Samsung laptop, it was working fine then I shut it down when I I turned it on and it popped up with a sml rectangle box stating Ent Password?

you would have had to put the password into the BIOS setup screen because that comes with no passwords stored in it. You would have to reset the mainboard on the mainboard itself. then the password should be removed. if there isn't a reset switch on the the outside of the laptop you will need to take the laptop apart to find a reset switch if there is 1. if there isn't 1 then you need to remove the BIOS battery and main battery and unplugged for an hour or so to clear the BIOS. each laptop is different as to how long it will take for the BIOS to clear so you may have to leave it over night.

Hello,

There are 2 methods doing that (I assume you forgot this password).

1. Hardware (easiest one):
a. Switch off power (plug out power cable or switch off power supply)
b. open your PC box
c. locate CMOS battery on motherboard (the largest part)
it will look exactly like that (round)

d. Just take it out and wait 30 seconds
e. plug it in. BIOS data will reset (password as well)
