My PAL won't work anymore unless plugged in. It doesn't appear that the battery is charging. We leave it plugged in for a while, but then, when we try to use it without the power chord, it won't turn on.

i contacted tivoli and (eventually) they sent me a new battery for £30. that made no difference. i re-contacted them and was told the only other thing i could do was to send them the unit for repair ... but it would cost about £50 + tax (+ probably a new battery for £30). the unit costs about £130 new ... so i am now weighing up
- buying a new one ... i really like the iPal
- going somewhere else for (hopefully) a cheaper repair

This is what you should do: charge it.. then when it's still connected to the power switch it on.. then you can remove the power plug and enjoy it for hours...

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods. Laptop batteries vary from laptop to laptop. i suggest you Google the Internet for a battery for your model laptop.
If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the battery is not charging, then the battery is dead.
To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let the latop run for 10 minutes or so.
To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in and remove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is dead and needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.
This situation sometimes occurs when the batteries get overcharged. Use the phone for a day and then attempt to charge. If it still won't charge, remove the battery for about a minute. Then re-install the battery and attempt to charge. If that doesn't clear the problem, you may need to get a new battery.
Your coby is not charging anymore..The battery probably needs to be replaced with a new one..Please check your connection when you charge it..There should be an icon that shows your battery is charging. If it does so that means your coby is charging but your battery cant store the energy anymore.
I would say that you definitely need to purchase a new netbook battery. If it's only turning on when plugged in, then the battery itself doesn't have any more charge cycles.
to keep the date on, you have to leave the camera off with a charged battery for 24 hous to charge the inner battery that keeps date on. If this doesn´t solve the problem then is because the inner battery won´t charge anymore, but it will take pictures as normal without the date. To avoid this don´t leave the camera too long without use or with a worn battery.
