Grease dripping out of control panel

We have the Faber Pro Magnum and we love it's blower power. It is a little loud at full blast but the exhaust is great. However we have been using it for 5 years and though we have cleaned the filters fairly regularly the grease seems to have built up in the channels on the control panel is oozing grease as well as the area nearer the back of the range. It looks like it is hard to reach that area. Any wisdom on how to clean this and stop the build up? Thanks David

Hi,

As the fan is not working but the light does work, it is either a defective fan switch or burned out fan motor. You can replace either one without removing the vent hood from the wall, but you need to use an ohm meter to decide which component is defective.

The fan switch should have 0 ohms of resistance when switched on. If it doesn't, replace the switch. If it does, you need to replace the fan motor.

Note - This is only for informational purpose. This is mere speculation what could be the cause on the basis of the symptoms you mentioned.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Magnum pellet stove won't light. Can hear the blower going bit it's like its getting no air

HI this is Duane from Techcenter1. We are the technical experts for MagnuM and Country Flame products. Depending on what model of MagnuM that you have, the air flow would be different. On all models it is important to check for plugging somewhere in the heat exchanger system, worn out exhaust blower or impeller in the exhaust blower, loose doors or failing control board. If you like you can email [email protected] with pictures of your unit and we can easily identify and start to help you out.

2005 dodge 3500 ram / noise from a/c on passenger side. Very loud when fan is on full blast - not much ac blowing out.

Sounds like you either have something stuck in the blower motor (leaves, pine needles, etc?) or the blower motor bearings are worn out.

2000 Volvo V70 climate control problem - blower remains in high, regardless of AUT 0-High setting. Vent selection and temperature controls work. Any idea?

Most common cause of this problem is a bad climate control power stage. The power stage control the speed of the blower fan on different settings, if it goes bad it defaults to full blast. There is a small chance the climate contro lunit itself is bad but more than 90% of the time, it is the power stage. It is located near the blower fan under the dash in the passenger footwell area. It makes it much easier to remove the glove box and knee bolster as well as the cover panel. It is rectangular in shape about 1.5" x 3" and black.

Automatic temperature control system

I am not sure I understand your question. When the control head is turned off, the system goes to defrost mode (failsafe by design) and the blower should be off. If the blower is at high speed when the control is in off, you have a faulty blower speed control module (power mosfet is probably shorted).

GE Profile Refrigerator - Small Leak & Loud Noise

Does water come out of the water dispenser?

I is more likely that the tube that drains the water down from the self defrost mechanism is clogged. Look in the very back of the reefer cabinet, you will see a trough back there, if it is full of ice and water the drain tube is clogged up. If so, a little blast of air from a can of air (like the ones you use to blow off computer key boards will blow it out. Then the water can drain down to the evaporator pan and you will no longer get water on the floor.
