I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy
paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print
button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it
will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I
have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there
over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this
way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps.

try unplugging, waiting 20 seconds then plug back iin. This resets printer, check for paper stuck in the back on the rollers and the top rollers...make sure printer isn't dirty..if rollers are dirty whip off with damp cloth..make sure your using the right type of paper....if these steps don't work and your under warranty call the warranty company....this is a hardware problem that needs to be looked at

Most printers have an access panel located in the back of the printer that will allow access for removal of all of the paper. Remove any larger pieces by pulling slowly and gently on the paper.

I had the same problem and just talked with HP technician Neeta and she showed me how to fix it. It's a bit convoluted. In essence you have to clear the print spooler. Here is what she told me.
First you have to be clear that there really ISN'T a paper jam by printing a test message this back door way.
Neeta : The USB cable should be disconnected. Neeta: To print a self-test page, press and hold the Power button. Raise and lower the printer cover four times. Release the Power button, and the self-test page prints
If the sel-test page prints, this means you truly do not have a paper jam. Next, clear the print spooler
Neeta : The USB cable should be disconnected.Neeta : Now click on start->RUN.Neeta : Then type "services.msc".Neeta : Then it will open the services window.Neeta : Now please look for the option "print spooler. Neeta : Okay, now , please right click on the option "print spooler" and click on stop then click on start, 3 times.

Unplug the power cord and while doing that make sure printer is powered on i mean do not turn off the printer using the power button. When you unplug the power cord than press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Than release the power button and connect the power cord and then try to print.
