Screen is to big

Either the TV or the cable/satellite receiver has Zoomed in to the image when parts of the picture are cut off. Look at both remotes for a Zoom feature or the onscreen menu's for any settings. Usually TV settings don't change on their own but cable/satellite receivers can receive updates and it may need to be reset afterwords, much like a PC.

No sound from a Philips model 60P8341...

Hello Jarvis1,

This is an indication that the actual sound output is working, but the amplifiers to the speakers are not. How you could take care of this is to check in there are any loose connections to the speakers. Then check if you have sound coming from the leads of the output stereo amplifier (You will need the schematic and an audio tracer/tracker to find this location and test for sound). I would venture that there would be no sound from the amplifier. If not you will have to replace the amplifier chip. I would suggest getting a qualified TV technician to perform this task. If you do have sound at the output of the strereo amplifier chip, then it might be a case of the earphone jack switch being broken, let me explain when you plug in your earphone the speakers are disconnected by a switch in the earphone jack if this switch is broken it could disable the speakers and produce these results. There is also the possibility that you have the speaks disabled from the menu of your TV (check this too, actually check this first).

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Screen cut off on the bottom - WT-42313 Mits 42"

Make sure your remote is the official Mit remote, and that it is set for TV, usually the far left setting at the top of the remote.

These remotes control many different devices. Some will allow video to work without allowing audio to work.

TV will allow all to work.

60P8341 Rear Projection - Remote does not work

Your TV needs the part 313501707611 - it's the keyboard that's the cause of your problems - but here's the catch... Philips does not make that part anymore... they say that you need to either find someone to fix the keyboard (which I've had no luck on) or buy a new Television from them... hmm, a $2000.00 TV that needs a $20.00 part now becomes a plant holder in my living room because Philips wants us to purchase a new TV from them.

Tv reacts very slow

the problem is due to the crystal which sets the speed of the processor and it may be dry due to heat if that crystal is replaced or dry soldered the problem can be solved
