Beko CDA751FW/1 mostly on all the time - fridge 4 degC, freezer -30degC

I have noticed that my Beko CDA751FW/1 fridge freezer is on most of the time (compressor on and freezer fan on). I have defrosted the freezer (which only had a small build up of ice). The compressor is hot but ok and keeping the freezer too cold (-30degC), because the fridge isnt getting cold enough, it seems. The thermostat control in the fridge (which is just a potentiometer) is ok, and the back top of the fridge is icing up and the bottom under the crisper trays. The unit seems to go into defrost mode now and then of which it all turns off the compressor and fan and defrosts ok, so I assume the defrost timer is working. So, I assume the thermostat is not working, or the middle rear panel coolers in the fridge (if there are any or whatever they are called) are not functioning to lower the temperature in the fridge temperature. So, my question is, where the heck is the actual thermostat. And are there more than 2 cooling zones in the fridge apart from the bottom/underneath (of the fridge) and the top back panel (6 inches high, the area above the top shelf). Hope this makes sense and someone can point me in the right direction. Surprisingly the compressor is happily cooling all the time, so far !! P.S. I have tried putting a frozen bottle of water in the fridge to cool it down, but without knowing where the thermostat actually is, I guess it doesnt prove too much.

To try to investigate and possibly solve the problem myself I would be very grateful if someone could tell me where the thermostat is on a Beko CDA751FW/1. And also how many cooling panels there are in the fridge section and where they are.

Replacement motor and fan for BEKO American style fridge freezer has 3 wires, original has 4 and different plugs . Do I just connect same colours

Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

You can try, but it has 4 wires for a reason, perhaps low and high speed.

Google

make model condenser fan

Unless it is the evaporator circulation fan? You fridge has three fans. There are many types listed here.

I have a BEKO CDA539F and notice that there is one with an X attached to the end of the code that is amongst the recall models. I asssume that my fridge freezer is safe. Am I correct?

From what I understand, you are safe if your serial number does not match the ones in the list exactly. That said, the information I have is from knowledgeable sources but NOT from BEKO, who have failed to answer their 0800 incident line or reply to my mails for 4 days now (By coincidence, while I provide a lot of technical help on this forum, I also have a BEKO fridge that IS on the list).

I would go to their site and send in a mail via the facility they offer there. I imagine that at some stage you will get a confirmation that all is OK with your fridge, but I would want to cover the bases if I was in your position. For convenience, the original article I wrote with the BEKO website listed in it is reproduced here for you:

POTENTIAL BEKO REFRIGERATOR FIRE RISK AND RECALL NOTICE

I would normally give a pointer to articles I have already posted this response on, but as this is such a potentially serious matter, I have posted my entire response here for you.

According to several sources I have checked, including most importantly, BEKO's own website, the MODEL numbers (not serial numbers) affected by the recall are as follows:

CDA543FX
CA5411FFS
CDA752FS
CDA645FW
CA5411FFW
CDA752FW
CDA647FS
CA5411FFX
CDA752FX
CDA647FW
CA7014FFX
CS460FF
CDA648FS
CA7015FFS
CS460FFS
CDA648FW
CA7015FFW
CS460FFSD
CDA653FS
CA7015FFX

CDA539FX
CSB4606FFS
CDA751FS
CDA543FS
CSB4606FFSD
CDA751FX
CDA543FW
CSB4606FFW

The fridges affected were manufactured between January 2000 and October 2006. After shipping and sitting around in shops, you can probably extend that margin to machines SOLD between 2000 and 2008. The first 2 digits of the serial numbers indicate the year of manufacture, so if your serial number doesn't start 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05 or 06 you don't even need to check.

If you go to the BEKO website, there is a link to check your serial number:

https://refsafety.beko.co.uk/

The site also provides a mail address and a UK Freefone number that you can call (Though I've tried the number and it keeps cutting me off!! I presume they are swamped with calls)

Our fridge freezer Model TDA531W bought 31/1/11 is housed in the garage, is it safe? Been listening to the Jeremy Vine show on radio this morning and we are alarmed that our fridge freezer may not be safe.

It's highly unlikely you have an issue since the units with the fault were manufactured between 2000 and 2006, in addition to which, your model number doesn't appear in the list of at risk units. That said, for your reassurance:

I have to say. Regardless of dates and matching serial numbers, if I had an affected model, I would be checking with BEKO anyway!!
