Installation I have just purchased my new G6 and want to install the new version, however I have the Canon Zoombrowser Version 3.1 on my computer. When it asks do I want to install the new version it will uninstall the old version and all it's components. If I say yes, will I lose all my photos it will it automatically transfer all the pictures into the new version??

It is no problem to change the version of program. You will not loss your photos. Your photos are actualy on the diferent folders on your PC hard disk but not in the folder of ZoomBrouser - the program will not touch them. Go ahead. ;) Best Regardes Aleksey

I have a new Dell Inspiron with Windows 7. No matter what I try I can't load/download a driver for Canon Ixus 300. I have the CD, but it is not compatible with Windows7.

Your CD is for an older version of Windows and the installers/drivers have changed over time. The driver you need is part of the Windows 7 OS so you should be able to just connect the camera to the computer using the appropriate USB cable.

The software update for the ZoomBrowser EX is available here: http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0000484.asp if you need. Use the drop-down menu to select Windows 7. Download and save the file. Then launch the updater (double-click) and insert your CD in the optical drive of the computer. Then follow the on-screen directions to install the ZoomBrowser EX version for Win7.

You can import from the camera with Paint (File > Import from Camera or Scanner) and PhotoGallery (if you have the Windows Live package installed)

I hope this helps.

Lost my canon 20d software that came with camera

All of the software, manuals and drivers are available on Canon's website.

ZoomBrowser is the the only software that may present installation problems if a previous copy is not already installed on your computer. Any old copy of ZoomBrowser will allow the most current version to be loaded from Canon.

ZoomBrowser EX

Canon USA has manuals for Zoombrowser available for download from their site, but they're all in English. If you have ZB version 6 you can download the manual here. If you have ZB version 5, you can download the manual here.

You can use microsoft scanner and camera wizard to download in the meantime. I'm not sure what is going on with your Zoombrowser software. Which Operating System are you running?

I can't upload pictures from my SD850 to XP

I had same problem: ZoomBrowser had been working fine on XP sp2, but today I found it could no longer detect the camera. My guess is some operating system patch caused it to stop working. I finally got it working again by doing the following:

1) Go to http://software.canon-europe.com/ , select Powershot G1 as the product, and get the list of available updates.

2) Download and install the latest version of ZoomBrowser (6.0.1).

3) Download and (re-)install the USB driver ( Canon Digital Camera WIA Driver 3.9.1). It will probably tell you it's already installed, but continue with the install anyway. It will also warn you that the driver isn't certified for XP, but ignore that and continue.

4) Reconnect the camera to the USB port on the computer and put it into upload mode. *Now* a window should pop up with a selection of programs you can launch, including ZoomBrowser. Yay!

Hope this helps.
