Dark lines appearing across my lcd tv

The tcon Board or the LCD panel is faulty. You have to replace the Tcon Board to confirm whether it was Tcon or the LCD panel.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following
symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture

this occurs very commonly in all LCD monitors... this is because each and every cells in the LCD monitor are energized by the vertical and horizontal electric fields placed around the frame of the monitor... if a particular field does not gives the power to the associated cells to it, then the entire line of cells will not operate and together they looks like a single line...This is what happened in your case...

Line faults & possible causes to LCD & Plasma screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Faults to all LCD & Plasma screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.

What directions are the lines?

Are these lines lit up, or just a dark pattern on the display?

If it appears like the LCDs are switching on (e.g. this line is perfect vertical or horizontal line that appears to have color when lit with a flashlight), then there is likely an electronics fault that is causing a tiny amount of current to reach the LCD driver chips for a vertical or horizontal column/row. that would concern me as something that may get worse over time.

Most TVs are built to be rigid enough for wall mounting, so this should have no effect. The only crazy thing I can think of is if somebody put a toooo long screw in one of the mounting holes in the TV and is contacting some part of a circuit. Likely? No. Possible? maybe.

If you can fix it by yourself, there is a problem in horizontal circuit panel, you need to check that in series because the part appear visbly good but when tested by the exact tester you register busted. that should be replaced immediately. Check also the vertical panel parts of the circuit. but if hard you do the job you may consult the service center of your TV or the vendor of the TV.

A line on an LCD, either horizontal or vertical usually means the video driver board is defective or the screen is defective, does it show up as black even on a dark screen? That means a line of LCD "shutter"s is not working and there is a problem that cant be fixed by a reboot or channel change. Bummer.

Most likely it's the LCD panel failure. You can replace the panel if you can find a spare part. But the new panel may cost you as much as to buy a new tv. Hope that will help you.
