I have had an abundance of problems when attempting to burn dvd's. Most common error I get is (medium error). Last error received was, "Power calibration error, RW DW-Q30A, Medium error. My operating system is Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz, .99 GB of RAM. SONY DVD RW DW-Q30A driver provided by microsoft, driver date 7/1/2001, version 5.0.2535.0. I updated the firmware from YYS2 to YYS7 but this did not help. Approximately 125 DVD's have been destruyed due to this issue. Please help.

1. go to device manager
/ right click on cd drive
/ uninstall driver
/ reboot and windows will reinstall driver
2. go to My computer
right click on cd drive
properties - check digital cd playback
recording - check enable cd recording on this drive
driver - update or uninstall
reboot your computer
