To Turn on/off Scroll Lock do one of the following: Press the Scroll Lock (sometimes appears as ScrLk) key on your keyboard. If your keyboard does not have a Scroll Lock key, on your computer, go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Ease of Access, and then click On-Screen Keyboard.
Unfortunately HP says: "If you forget the power-on password, the computer must be reset at an
HP-certified repair center. Please contact HP to schedule a repair. The
Drive Lock password cannot be reset. If you lose or forget the Drive
Lock password, the hard drive must be replaced. Please contact HP to
order a new hard drive. These services are not covered by the warranty."

The scroll lock is located at the upper right corner of your keyboard and should be in blue. This means that you must use the fn button at the lower right or left on your keyboard depending on your year and model. There should be a light that comes on to let you know its working.
