Hi! i own an ASUS Degatto desktop replacement and it does not have an internal battery. everytime i open my laptop it always goes to the CMOS setup i am suspecting the problem is in the CMOS battery i tried opening my laptop to replace the CMOS battery but i can't succeed, can you help me with tips how to open up my laptop? thanks!
It's difficult to say but you will need to remove the underside screws and also maybe even the keyboard as it's often attached to the base. The cmos battery could also be behind the screen. Comment by sandrew, posted on Nov 12, 2006 I'm sorry but I dont have any personal experiences with your particular laptop, but the lcd's are generally held in with 1 screw in each corner normally covered by a rubber bung hiding the screws, I would be very carefull not to disconnect any wires behind the screen, if yor not sure take it to a qualified repairer. You will probably have to remove the top panel just below the hinges as they may be held in underneath
