I assume you are using Windows?
If so, go into your start menu. Go to the control panel. Go to uninstall software. Now a list of programs will pop up. Select google chrome and choose to uniinstall it. This will not effect your files. Your bookmarks will reload when you reinstall google chrome and log back in to your google account.
After uninstalling google chrome, go to google.com/chrome and redownload and reinstall chrome.
This should fix any issues you are having with google chrome.

1.Go to control panel
2.Click on Internet Options
3.On the top, select the Advanced tab
4.At the bottom of the page, reset all the settings(not only advanced settings, there will be two such reset options)
5.If doesn't fix, try re-installing google chrome or use Apple Safari on Windows(it will work) or use mozilla firefox. You will definitely be able to go online if its only an issue with the browser and not with internet connection.

Try instead, typing the following URL into the address bar:
http://www.facebook.com
Note that I left out the "s" in https. The "s" means the site is a "secure" site... However, under normal circumstances, you should be safe enough logging in the "normal" way. If you feel comfortable doing this, go ahead and try it now.
I just tried it both ways, and both ways worked for me. I'm using the latest version of Firefox with pretty much default security settings. You didn't state which browser you were using, and I'm not sure it matters, but I do know that the security settings for Microsoft Internet Explorer can be tricky at times. So if that's the case, check your list of secure sites or other settings, otherwise, I highly recommend going to http://www.firefox.com and downloading the latest and greatest version, I think you'll be pleased. (And no, I don't work for Mozilla!)
Finally, it is possible that Facebook was having a temporary problem. Let me know if you were able to get logged into your Facebook account.
Thanks ~Jim :-)

If you are able to access other websites than your Internet connection is fine and eventually Google will once again appear after they sort out their temporary server problem.
