OK so here is my problem. Well first let me explain what happened. I bought my camera on Sept 10, 2006 on Sept 30, 2006 as i was in the process of tacking pictures at a wedding it decided to not work anymore. I have never dropped it and have been very carful with it. I can still turn it on and it wil act like it is taking pictures but wheni load the pics on the computer the pictures are just a black screen. I was thinking it was the battery but that wasnt it then i thought it might have been the memory card nope not that either. So i dont know if i hit a combination of buttons at the same timeor what. All i know is that i need help!!!!

Re: Exilm EX-Z60 black LCD screen
Do you still have the pics on the memory card? If you do take the mem card out and the "format" the internal memory of your camera and then reset it. See if that helps if not you are going to have to Call the repairs center at 800-706-2534 and then keep choosing option 1.
Take mem card out.
Turn on camera
go to setup tab
go up until you see format
press right arrow and highlight format
press set...it will say "Busy, please wait"
Once you are back to where you can take pics press menu
go to setup tab
go up to reset
press right arrow & highlight reset
See if that works for you.

There could be a firmware corruption problem for jamming... or the blurry image is either due to the firmware corruption or processor hardware problem or focusing mechanism problem... update firmware if the problem does not solve then you have to get you cam serviced....
To remove the date/time stamp from your photos, you will have to either crop (cut) it out or use a Photo editing program to remove the date. Good photo editing programs are Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro amoung others.
YOU STATE THAT THE CAMERA PLAYS BACK PREVIOUS IMAGES? ARE YOU STILL ABLE TO TAKE PICTURES? IF YOU ARE, MOST LIKELY THERE HAS BEEN SOME DAMAGE BETWEEN THE IMAGE PROCESSOR AND THE LCD. THE FACT THAT THE MENU AND OTHER IMAGES STILL WORK MEANS THE LCD IS OK, SO YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO HAVE THE CAMERA REPAIRED TO CORRECT THE DAMAGE FROM THE IMAGE PROCESSOR TO THE LCD, BUT I BELIEVE THE REPAIR COST WILL BE MORE THAN THE COST OF THE CAMERA. I FOUND THE CAMERA ON EBAY FOR A STARTING BID OF $9.99. SORRY, BUT I JUST WANT YOU TO HAVE ALL THE INFORMATION. IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, REPLY TO ARCLIGHT1217. IF THIS HAS BEEN HELPFUL, PLEASE RATE, THANKS!
If it is under warranty Casio can fix it for free. other wise you end up paying the labor/parts. Can become very costly. I suggest open the case and replace the plastic housing that hosts the saw wheels. Should fix the problem
No there isn't. It should automatically come on. Usually when I have heard of that it is right before the LCD goes out for good. Call repairs at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.
