I have the Dell 2300MP connected to a Compaq Preserio 100 laptop. The image displays perfectly until I fire up media player to show movies from DVD / hard drive etc. The media player controls etc are all displayed perfectly normally but the actual video area is just a black rectangle. I have tried resynching , checked the screen resolution done all the recommended checks etc. Even tried different movie formats avi, mpeg etc in different resolutions with no luck. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?? HELP
Yes, I have the same problem with a Dell Inspiron 700m laptop. I have never been able to show videos using two seemingly compatible devices. This is not a projector issue however, as my projector displays video DVD fine from this PC, only videos inserted into PowerPoint will not play. Using another computer it works fine. Imagine that, Dell selling two highly practical devices that are not compatible.

I have exactly the same problem which occurs with a number of dvd software programmes including sonic. I have the 2300mp connected to an inspiron 6000 laptop.
