Question about Cyberhome CH-LDV 700B Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

Reads disc then stops and reads again, keeps repeating this process

I have the Portable DVD Player and am having trouble getting it to work. I insert a DVD and it says "Reading" then stops and after a couple of seconds it says "Reading" again then stops. This process just keeps going and I am not able to play a DVD. I have tried several different DVD's and tried cleaning the DVD's to no avail. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? It was a prize through a company program so I don't have information on where it was purchased. It did work the first few times I tried it out but then starting the problem.

Having same problem. This worked on two occassions, but that's it. Do you know if the company will rectify this issue. The store warranty is expired. If so how do I contact this company?

Player does not work. Laser light off. When disc is inserted the screen reads 'no disc'.

Maybe the settings with the player for the laser is off or it may be damaged or deffective.

My Dvd Player does not read disc when they are

first, try using rubbing alcohol and cotton swab and clean the glass laser lens eye.

If cleaning the lens doesn't work, then the lens control circuit will need to be replaced

WILL NOT PLAY A DISC

With the power turned off, open the DVD Player, and then open the top where you load the DVD into the player. Locate the laser lens and notice that the laser is attached to a transport assembly that moves the laser diagonally outward in a slot. 1. Slide this assembly outward to the end of its track. 2. Slide the assembly back inward to the closest inward position. 3. Repeat the process of sliding the assembly outward and then back inward.4. Put in a music CD and let it play all the way through. This helps to calibrate the laser head assembly movement. When the music CD is finished playing. 5. Put in a DVD, and you should have a working unit again This is a factory solution from Mintek that was given to a customer who ask for help with the forever loading disc problems. This solution may work on other models of portable DVD players. Most portable DVD players use this type of transport mechanism. Try this solution it might work for you.

Advent car dvd player does not read every dvd disc

you could try getting a lens cleaning disc and run that in the dvd player, could be a little dust on the lens that reads the disc.

Cannor Read DVDs

I have a similar issue to you, except that my dvd drive will only recognize a disc if I have booted up into windows with it in the tray...once in windows it will still think it has the first disc in no matter what disc i insert. If i boot up with no disc then it will never read it unless I follow the steps below.

A solution I found by pure frustration and trying all sorts of things is to eject the DVD tray and leave it opened, then right click on the dvd drive in 'my computer' and select the 'hardware' tab...then select the drive and click 'properties'.
A new window should open. Select 'volumes' and click 'populate'. Now close the window and insert the disc you wish to read, close the tray and repeat this process. Windows should now recognize the disc you inserted

Alot of trouble I know, but it works for me. Hope this helps.

Dvd player will not spin disk

Unfortunately, your DVD player is broken. Portable units like these often get bumped and jostled and the motor that spins the DVD quits (very small and fragile). Sorry, I wish there were a magic button.
