Won't be detected by the computer

It used to work fine before. But now, my computer somehow does not detect the player. I restarted it, connected the player from different USB slots, checked the cable again and again. However none of these worked so far. Any suggestions?.. Thanks.

I can not make any changes in the "mode" area. It just goes back to the main screen when I try. It shows the rhapsody selection, but no others. How can I get rid of the rhapsody and back to the MTP or MSC to show on the "mode" area??

The screen lights up but blank white, it won't do anything including switching off

Hello,

The first thing to check weather your phone is working fine is by plugging your iphone to a computer using you usb cable.

* If the phone have been detected in normal way when itunes comes out and give complete details and information of your phone,it seems your phone LCD screen has the problem,it somehow need replacement.(bringing it to apple center is the solution for parts replacement.)

* But if then phone have been detected as recovey mode, your phone firmware seems to have problem,by somehow fixing this basically, try to press and hold POWER + HOME button simultaneously for about 20-30,then see if the phone sets to normal.

If not, then you need to restore the phone by following this procedure : FOLLOW ME

If you have some concerns, please let me know and i get back to you as soon as possible.

I re-formatted my Sansa e280 and now my computer does not recognize it. I am wanting to transfer music files only, using Windows Media Player.

Try to reset the device and if there is any driver for it, install them before connecting it to the computer.

Zune

To reset the zune you must press and hold the back button and the top part of the zune pad. Other parts of the zune pad will not work.

When plugging the zune into your PC does the PC detect it (device manager -> portable devices). You should hear the ding sound of hardware connecting.

If it is connecting to the PC and is not detected by the software than it is likely a permissions problem. Right click the software icon and choose run as administrator.

If it is not detected by the PC than check your usb cable and make sure your zune is charged and not frozen.

Not detected by computer - cannot recharge battery

yay I found a solution! so I kept getting the error about an MTP device, so I did a big search. I am running vista on a 32 bit processor. what you need to download is the MTP installation programme from windows. so click on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211
and then just select what processor speed you need. should do the trick! I also downloaded http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en initially, but it didn't appear to work. hope that you all get to the bottom of this frustrating problem :)

Won't be detected by the computer

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.
