Toshiba color television 36A12

The sound is very low on the television. The remote control volume reaches 100, but the volume on the tv is still so low that we can barely hear the tv. Any ideas on how to get the sound back? Thanks

Hooked up a new digital convertor box, but low volume (which was at 100) but could barely hear the TV. Disconnected the convertor box and my TV sound is still very low. Tried setting volume on TV, then using remote, but no change either way. If I turn OFF the SBS, there is very, very little sound at all.

If you are using a cable box make sure the cable box remote volume is also turned up go into the customer menu on the tv and verify that the speakers are on under the audio settings

We had this problem. Tech told us to use the remote to turn the tv all the way down, then use volume button on tv to turn up volume to desired level or above. We were then able to adjust volume with remote again.

Possible problems: * The TV set may be unplugged. * A fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or switched off. * The remote control unit (RCU) may be disabled. Solutions: * Make sure the TV/VCR are plugged in and the wall switch is on. * Check the fuse or circuit breaker. Test the outlet with a lamp. * Replace the RCU's batteries: if this fails exchange the unit.

Tv volume too low

Sometimes there is a volume on older cable boxes. Unfortuanately adjusting the volume can be a chore because most cable remotes are volume locked to the TV input. You can try and press the cable button on your cable box remote and see if the volume will adjust, if not I would call your cable company and see if they can help, and possibly replace the box. Usually you can take the box to a store for your provider in the area and they can swap it out.

Low sound on harmony one

Is the remote set to adjust the volume on the TV? If it is going up all the way to 100% or Full on the TV then suggest checking the source. On some cable and satellite boxes they have a built-in volume control also. If that is set low, that would affect the amount of volume coming out of that device.

I have a toshiba 32a32 32" tv, the problem im having is all of a sudden the channels started switching by itself and the volume keeps going up to 100. when i set a channel it stays there for a minute then...

Hello,

The problem is either from the remote or the television, there has been so much heat on the control panel of the television, so it has melted some lead off a part of the control panel and bridging it to another part, so it is increasing both the volume and changing the channel in an upward direction.

The solution is to change the control panel of the television or correct it by using a soldering iron to melt off the lead from where leads meet.

If you remove the battery from the remote and it still does the same, then it is confirmed that it is the televisions control panel. But if after removing the battery it stops scrolling up, then the problem is from the remote and the solution is for you to replace the remote with a new one.

Take care and good luck

Volume won't turn down

Try the setup program. When you get to the main setup screen, look for a reset all to standard setting. That may solve the problem. If it doesn't then the sound module may need to be replaced inside the TV.

Volume is very low

Use the satellite receiver remote control to adjust the volume first. The receiver itself offers volume control and you probably have that turned down. Then you are trying to raise it with the volume control on the TV. This is raising the TV volume, but there isn't much sound there in the first place. Use the receiver remote, and you will probably see a volume bar. At some point it might say something like "best stereo" or a star might appear. If that happens leave the volume set there, otherwise just raise it all the way. Then control the volume with the TV remote, or program the DirecTV remote for your brand of TV, and the volume button should control the TV then.
