Certain cycles do not operate

All the wash cycles on my dishwasher work except "Normal" wash and "both racks" (under light wash). These are the washes I use most often. However, when I press the button, it does not light up. I've already checked the electric outlet, etc., but still nothing seems to work.

I am having the same problem. The "Both Racks" under "Light Wash" do not work and the "Normal Wash", "Hi-Temp Wash" and "Sanitize" do not work.

I think a control module or something along those lines is failing. I assume the price of the electronics would put me in the market for a new dishwasher.

I have the same problem with the "normal" wash and "both racks" wash not working.

identical problem, except we can use pots and pans and light wash, but not normal. you press the buttons and nothing responds. you'd think there'd be something on the frigidaire website on this one. i may try the "leave it unplugged for 15 minutes', then crack open the control panel and jigger around with stuff. what could go wrong?

So it is just a timer that is preventing the other cycles from working?

Thanks,
Keith

YOU JUST NEED TO REPLACE YOUR TIMER NOT AS EXPENSIVE AS A NEW DISHWASHER

Does this dishwasher have a lock button?

Hello - Yes, it does have a child lock control. It is design to prevent children from accidently change the dishwasher cycle or starting the dishwasher. It locks the dishwasher controls by pressing and releasing the DELAY TIME icon for 3 seconds. Do you see an indication lock light on your dishwasher illuminate? It will usually appear when the controls are locked and no new selections can be made until the lock is released. To unlock the controls, press the DELAY TIME icon under the indicator light goes out.

My dishwasher will not drain after cycling. I have check the drain hose connected to the disposal. All is in good order the hose is not cinked and the air hole is unblocked. I have also checked the screen...

The problem is a solenoid under the unit. It is a small black cylinder that operates a valve to change from the wash cycle to the drain cycle. You can probably order a new one from Kenmore for pretty cheap.

Normal wash cycle will not work. After I used the rinse cycle on day, I went back to the normal cycle and the lights wouldn't light up. Every other cycle will still run except this one.

Could be tricky to find this one.

You need to deduce what is used in the main cycle that is not used in the others,
Whatever is used is likely to need testing or replacing.
If there is nothing else wrong (heater, pumps, thermostats) then the only thing to try is a new control board.

My blanco dishwasher makes a humming sound but does not pump water or work

I have a Blanko BDW126X that would do a PRE-WASH (8min) cycle with no problems but when I tried a NORMAL (250 min) or a RAPID (90 min)cycle there was a very loud buzzing noise after about 2 minutes of operating most of the technicians on this forum point to a fault pump.

I do not know if this will work for you but it certainly fixed my problem, try this...

I ran 7 PRE-WASH cycles one after the other allowing the machine to 100% complete the cycle, then I tried a NORMAL wash cycle. The blockage in the pump was cleared and my dishwasher again works brilliantly.

Dishwasher hums

empty out the unit and recheck the arm and rack then start it up empty and check operation --if huming but working properly --stated it does drain so motor is operating ---then its operating normal ---if arm still not working will need to remove arm and check gear or shaft for damage

OLD KITCHENAIDE MODEL KDI-20 LEAVES SOAP GRANULES ON DISHES.

I have this same problem, plus the pre-wash soap dispenser doesn't open sometimes even though a service guy replaced that. Could he have replaced just one side and not the other? this dishwasher also has a new motor. sometimes it washes beautifully. but other times it does not. even if both dispensers opened.

Problem starting fridgidaire model FDB1050REC2

hello kwill8
welcome to Fixya.

You said, You just installed the dishwasher and the only cycle it will go through is the rinse cycle. When You turn the dial to any of the other cycles:pots&pans, normal, light wash and upper rack, the start button as well as the heat dry button and the high temp button do not work. only button that will light up when pressed is the delay button. How can you fix this?

Is this your model FDB1050REC2This is a brand new model and you said you just installed it!
If it is brand new!
You do not have to fix it.
You have a full years warranty, parts and labor!let them fix it no cost to you.
The first thing they will do, . You can do your self!

Go to the breaker and turn it off for 5 minutes and then on again. This should reset the system and this usually is the end to most bad starts!

try it!
