Door locked light on but washing machine will not start

I have actually got a HF7 150M model but don't know how to use the site!!! Sorry I have checked the filter and the filter connections for blockage - they are OK. The door locked light is on when power button is pressed but washing machine will not start the chosen cycle. I have opened the machine and looked at all the connections - they all seem to be attached. There are a few that appear slightly corroded but none that are unattached. Please help - I've got 4 kids!!!!

Try unplugging the machine and plugging it back in and see if that helps reset it.

make sure the tap is not broken off ,if the tap is good that means you switch is bad, replace it. hope this information could help you.

Door will not open if it has water in it.
Lay hose down to get rid of water, then you can open door.
Try the spin with no water in, if it spins, then you have a draining problem

I think your door interlock needs replacing. Turn off the power undo the front of the door gasket and that will get you to the lock mechanism. They're about £20 to replace.

Thanks for using FixYa. The start and pre-wash usually flash due to a clogged drain hose or the water pump. You’ll need to drain the water out of the base and also check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine). If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

One of the things to check is the door latching mechanism. It may just be loose. The numbers you provided are for the pedestal and not the actual machine.

My front load whirlpool washer wfw9050 won't start wash cycle. When I press start the wash light starts blinking. I think it might be the door lock but don't know how to check for sure.

Load,close door,push start,door locked lights,start lights,wash light comes on yet it never starts.

Make sure the machine is able to fill. Check the taps are on. Check the machine on a spin only cycle. If it works , great, if not, it could be a dud door switch. Does the door actually lock when the "lock" light comes on?

Kenmore front loader washing machine won't start

You will need to replace the door lock. Here is the part to order.
To replace the lock, remove the band securing the boot to the front panel and fold back the door boot. Now you can access and replace the lock. Let me know if you should need further help.

The machine wont 'lock' the door to start a program. There is power and all the correct lights are on

The door lock mechanism is a weak point with many of the older washers. So you might have to replace the lock lock circuit to fix it. Sorry for the generic answer, but without the model number from you machines ID sticker, I can't look up your machine to give you better advice.

GE Washer, Model GBVH5140HWW. Door seal failed and water in washing machine leaked into the base of the washing machine. Removed the front panel, replaced the door seal, dried up the water in the machine...

The seal is likely not installed correctly. What is happening is the latch for the lock is trying to hook and it is being blocked so it doesn't actually lock. After so many tries the machine goes into an abort mode where it washes out all the water and stands by for it to be fixed. If you put some pressure on the door (closing it) while it is trying to lock, it likely will lock and then run. It is basically an adjustment issue. It is also possible that something with the lock mechanism is broken or out of adjustment causing the leaking to begin with and that is actually the area that needs attention rather than replacing the door seal. Door seals rarely fail unless they are physically damaged somehow.

Norge washing machine is not spinning on spin cycle. It pumps ok (in fact, spins clockwise during pump). Lid switch is good. Drive belt is good. Agitates just fine. But on spin it stays stagnant. This is a top-loading washer. Checked lid switch for continuity, just fine. Agitates fine. Fills up fine. Only spin cycle is not working. During the wash cycle, it stays still on spin cycle but at drain cycle, it spins clockwise and pumps, so I think the motor is ok? Could the motor be only spinning one way? After the rinse cycle, it doesn't pump or spin at all.
