Chamberlain garage opener 9902 was working fine for years now it won't close with the remote most mornings sometimes it will after pushing the button a zillion times but most times i have to close it from the wall and go out the front door. Very irrateing I changed battery and tried a different remote. What's wrong??

That normally happens when the sensors aren't aligned. Both sensors have led lights on them the yellow/orange one will stay on all the time the green one will go out if it cant see the other sensor. Possibly theres a wire that's broken or the other sensor is really out of alignment. Check every inch of wiring from the sensor to the opener, remove wire nuts if present and check the connections. The wires that are used are small, solid and can break easily. Also see if there's a staple that's too tight, move the wire abit where it's stapled and look for damage.

The sensor eye - or more likely, the other end, the sensor light - probably got knocked out of alignment. The eye should have an LED on it - possibly one that glows green when it's ready to close or red when it's obstructed or out of alignment. Try adjusting the light until the LED on the receiver glows green.

check that lenses on safety beams are clean and that they are aimed at each other so that both have led light on.

Its very possible for someone esle to have your code I would say try two things. The first thing is too check your wall button wire shake it is a little make sure there are not cuts or staples in the wire its self cause it to short out and run. Then change your codes is pretty easy on the back of the opener unit its self there are the dip switchs you will most likly need a step stool. Just move 2 or so of the dip switchs and then move the same ones on your remote. On your remote the dip switchs should be undernether the batter cover

Make sure the door sensors are pointed at one another and both lights are on and not blinking. Tweak them just a bit to make sure.

I am having the same problem. Door opens fine in the morning when using the wired wall button, But most mornings it will not close using remotes (I've tried several). The motor does not run, no noise, nothing happens. However, if I walk in and hit the wall mount button, it closes fine. In the evenings, when returning from work, the remotes work every time. Any solutions out there?
did you add an LED bulb to the opener? I did to mine and it caused the same problem you describe. the opener would not close. Take out the LED bulb if you have one. They can interfere with the receiver on the opener unit
