its 192.168.1.2 by default now ideally access points do not provide DHCP service, so for you to be able to connect you will need to set an IP manually, got for 192.168.1.10 for example with the default subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 and leave the remaining values blank for now. the access points default password is "1234"

click start control panel administrive tools ,computer management ,device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver hope this helps
I can fully understand your query. If want the driver, check http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/digitalcommunication/downloads/default.mspx 1) Select type of product - Webcam 2) Select your product - LifeCam VX-1000 3) Select your operating system 4) Select your operating system language 5) Click Go From next page click on link to download required drivers.
Have you tried looking in your device manager to see if all is ok in there. If your PCMCIA port isn't working maybe it can be fixed from the device manager. Could just need the driver updated. I hope this problem works out asap for you.
OK often it's the XP Zero Configuration service, try disabling that and it may be better... also get the latest driver updates... Often just to disable and re-enable the wifi adapter sometimes in network connections, brings it back without a reboot too.
i think it will work, but before giving any coment let me download the file and test the device
thanks
