I have a hitachi 50v710 I replaced the bulb now it wont work

Before i replaced the bulb i tried unplugging it and plugging it back in and a few other things. Everything would come on and run like they were supposed to. Then i replaced the bulb since thats what the lights had indicated needed to be done. When i got the bulb in and plugged the tv back in nothing would work. No fans or anything. Is there some sort of reset process or anything i can go through.

EASY THING TO DO HERE IS REMOVE LAMP and see if it went in perfectly---when you have one problem--then replace a part and have something different usually something happened when you replaced the part.

It is always possible the new part is bad but you should have a different indication of some kind.

If you have Hitachi model number 50UX58B, 60UX58B, 50UX58K, 60UX58K, 50SBX78B or 60SBX78B and you have the following symptoms you may want to grab a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit that includes the parts and instructions to fix these models. This is a fairly common problem with the above model numbers. It is typically caused by a blown capacitor and pico fuse. Again, you can get a kit from the above address.
Here are the symptoms...

Primary Symptom: No Audio or Video. Power light will come on briefly then shut off.
Other Possible Symptoms : The green LEDs on the circuit board light up for a few seconds then turn off.

Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Hitachi 50v710 Yellow spot

I found out that Hitachi has a class action law suit against them for the light engine problem. I called them and asked what they were going to do for my tv which is out of warrenty. The reply was that they would pay for new light engine. I said what about labor. No they would not pay for labor. I asked to speak to supervisor. I was told by supervisor that the tv had to be inspected by certified repair person. Cost for this was $125 but would be applied towards the total labor cost. Repair guy came to house walked in and said he did not even have to turn tv on to know the problem. We called Hitachi to set up shipment of part. Hitachi told me at that point that they would cover all labor costs also. Part has been installed this week and tv is like brand new set.

Why after i replaced the bulb the picture is still dark?

Are you sure you put the right bulb in ? These need a P22H 120 watt bulb. You CANNOT use an E22H--it has the wrong optical angle. it will work--but WILL be dark.

My temp light keep blinking

When the temp light is blinking, that indicates that one (or more) of the cooling fan has stopped spinning. The TV will stay off to protect itself from overheating until the fan is replaced. There are two fans. One is available here: http://www.encompassparts.com/products/?GS01131 ; the other is http://www.partstore.com/Part/Hitachi+Ltd/Hitachi/GS00931/New.aspx .

Retrevo has the manual for the Hitachi 50V710 here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Hitachi-50V710-TVs-manual/id/372ag010/t/2/ . You will need to enter the code to access the file.

I hope this helps.

Where is the lamp located on my 50v710 Hitachi TV

The lamp is located behind the lower removable speaker grill on the front of the TV. There will be a lamp door then the lamp is up inside the TV behind the lamp door. Make sure the lamp door is back in place before turning on the TV after replacing the lamp as the set will not work without it installed.

Hitachi 50v710 turns off after about 1 minute

this is a very common problem with lcd and projection screen.. what is happening power supply are being over loaded manufacture did not think about the long term use of game and computer graphics which put out a higher amout of graphics which over works the power supply over time... but they did make them easily replaceable with in unit thier usally connect to main board with plug lamen terms...

if possible take unit apart locate wire from the socket for power cord follow wire to power supply disconnect.. socket maybe be directly attached to powersupply module either way detach locate part number on board call manufactuer order new one or take it to your local tv shop and have them replace items onboard that are bad
