Question about Frigidaire GLTR1670A Front Load Washer
Frist, please excuse my lack of terms/parts, this is my first attempt at repairing a washing machine. This washer is just 4 years old and will fill with water, washing will begin, the dial will move but it never spins and ends with water in the washer. I have removed the drain hose cleaned it and the other hoses. I found a booby pin in the pump (the side the drain hose hooks into) I thought that might have been the problem so then re-installed the pump and it continued to do the same thing and sounded a bit like a loud whine. I removed the pump and and took it to a appliance part store, they checked the pump and said they felt it was working, however it sounded much louder then the new one they took from the box and tested, at least to me. They suggested the door latch may be the problem? I researched many posts here and the mentioned that the pump pully may be the issue? I suspect I need to take the pump apart to check that pully, is that correct? Would you suggest re-installing the pump once again and see what happens? I would really appreciate any help PLEASE! Thank You
Your pump doesn't have a pulley. With the washer full of water if your put it on the spin cycle will it pump out water? If so pump is probably ok and the pressure switch thinks the washer is full of water and spends the whole spin cycle trying to pump water out. If not then your pump is plugged or bad and needs to be replaced. If your dooe latch is bad your door lock light would not come on. So if it does come on in the spin cycle that part is probably fine.

Tips for a great answer:
Hi bitemejohne - Often when a unit does not spin, it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. Since you have already replaced the door lock assembly then the washer may be experiencing other issues. It could possibly have a faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.
Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
An E23 error code on your Frigidaire washer indicates a failure of the drain pump relay.
