If the output transistor is good you need to measure the voltage at the collector to see if it has the needed voltage to operate,is also important to check the conections in the horizontal driver transformer and also measure the volts at the collector of the horizontal driver transistor, before you check any voltages check for loose conections and overheated areas, after everything is nice and solid then you can check for volts,be careful while measuring voltages and try not to touch anything with your bare hands while the set is on.Let us know how it goes or if you need more information.

Your rating response is also important.

The collector voltage at the driver transistor should be around 60 volts dc and at the collector of the output it should be about 130 that is if the horizontal drive signal is present. If you can measure the collector of the output at any other place it will be better.

I have a Sony Trinitron KP-43T90, have sound but no picture it is a 2001.

Check its horizontal output section circuit for fault. Check the horizontal output transistor. If it found leaky, suspect horizontal output transformer.

When i put my tv sony trinitron on, i hear the sound for 15sec en then the tv go out en de leds blanks

Hello
There is some sort of indirect short inside your TV. It is in the main circuit board. Most of this kind of fault in Sony Tvs are related with horizontal output stage. You just replace the horizontal output transitor [which drives the Line Output Transformer] of your TV first. If the transitor is leaky, the above said falult may occur. If it doesn't help Line Output Trnasformer [LOT] may need replacement. Check whether the replaced transistor overheats within seconds or minutes. If it overheats the LOT is faulty. Ok.

I have a kp-51ws500, that comes on the colors get wierd then it shuts off, any ideas? Lamp?

Not Lamp, it is problem of convergence output ICs failure. KP-51WS500 is rear projection tv that has 3 color tubes to make picture, this tv does not have Lamp as light source in DLP tv.
Replace convergence output ICs to fix the issue. Local tv repair shop will help you if you have no experience in electronics stuff fix.
Thanks.

My sony rear projection model # KP51W5510 it just makes a clicking noise and the power/stand by light keeps flashing no picture and occasionally a sound. what could be the problem

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. It's been busy. You have a problem with the high voltage section. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4916941-diagnose_repair_projection_tv_high which explains the problem, how to repair it and where to get the parts.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.

Speaker Off/On

If I am reading your symptoms correctly, it sounds like you are getting audio to your surround sound receiver, but not your TV speakers? If that is the case, I would be checking for a defective audio output IC and possibly an IC Protector fuse connected to it.

Collector on horizontal output is 75 volts momentarily then to 0 volts.

Never measure the collector of the horizontal output transistor. When the set is on that voltage is spiking upwards of 1000 volts and could seriously damage the meter and possibly shock you. Measure the B+ pin on the flyback instead, it should be 135 volts. Usually what I find is that the flyback itself is shorted, so when you turn the set on the B+ comes up and the horizontal output starts conducting, but the computer senses the extra current in the flyback and shuts the set back off. The red timer light on the front of the set will then blink a certain number of times to indicate exactly why the set has shut down. If you do not have experience analyzing the Sony shutdown circuit then have a qualified tech handle it for you.
