Strange missing pixels/ discoloration for SNES

My Super Nintendo console diplays the games that i put into them, however some of the sprites are missing pixels and many of the colors are distorted. I've tried using a different television as well as different display cables. I also tried using an alcohol/water solution on the SNES's connectors. It used to work without problems mere months ago but now any game I try yeilds the same results.

I understand the console is old, but I am more looking for what I may need to clean/replace on the system rather than having to buy a completely different system

SOURCE: How do you fix a bad video chip on a super

You could outright replace components. I know it's not the easiest thing to do, but it may very well be your only option.

SOURCE: Hi I'm having a problem

Well It might be the gamepack but the only way to test it out is to try it one a different N64 console to see if you have any luck if it works somewheres else than your N64 console has an internal problem of it 0 luck on something else than Its a fake gamepack because the old consoles will reject fake game packs then.

Why isn’t my Super Nintendo consoles red power light turning on while the ac adapter in plugged into the outlet on the wall ?

I am having the same problem with my super Nintendo console not having the red power light coming on. It could be the ac adapter that is causing your SNES console to not be turning on. You could try a new SNES ac adapter to see if it works or not. If your SNES console still is not coming on with a new ac adapter it maybe be the fact that your console is not working anymore and it would be more cheaper and easier to buy another SNES console than to fix the current one that you have. Lukie Games and DKOldies and East Starland games and JJ games have SNES consoles.

My nintendo 64 game pack will not fit into the slot of the retoduo

YOU CAN NOT PUT NINTENDO 64 GAMES INTO SNES or NES SLOTS. The retro duo is snes (super nintendo entertainment system) and nes (nintendo entertainment system) only there is not spot for the nintendo 64.

Snes reset button

Well you could try buying a broken Super Nintendo console off of EBay and get the part that you need to be replaced. If you find a broken SNES console with a reset switch button that is fine then.

When i plug my snes to my tv it wont work :/ i plug the cable to tv and put the snes on chan3 then i go on channel 3 with my tv and it show me a black screen ,sometime i hear 2 sec of the game music :/

Hi pikapike,

I see you are going back to the 90's with your Super Nintendo. Firstly I do not know how you can "put the snes on chan 3". If I am correct, all super nintendo cables to the TV are RV coloured ones. therefore once it is plugged into the TV, you will ant the A/V channel? which usually has a separate button.

Secondly if what you say that you get a flash/glimpse of the game, then check the system of your TV. Is it PAL (Europe, Aus, NZ, etc) or NTSC (U.S.) Hopefully you can change the TV settings to match your game console!

Hope this helps,

My SNES was working while i was playing a game, i shut it off to put in a different game, and when i turned it on, it wouldnt work. any suggestions on what to do?

i to love the snes, i suggest to get a wii, softmod it, then install all your favorite snes games on it via wads. all your games will show up as channels on the wii and they play flawlessly. (no lagg) all you need is a classic controller or gc controller

My snes keep showing pixels when they are not supposed to be there

Clean the game cartridge with a qtip and some rubbing alcohol, swab the game cartridge board on both sides (don't touch the grey plastic, only the circuit board) and allow to dry before reinserting it into your SNES. This problem is due to a dust and dirt inside your game

Super Nintendo games start but levels don't

try blowing inside the game cartridge and then the slot the game inserts into. I had this problem on my snes with some games and this helped. Other to that it may be the console is on its way out.

Ebay sell some really cheap snes consoles now. I picked one up for £15.00 with games.
