When recieving faxes. The image is distorted (words stretched). It does not happen all the time. I've tried a new drum unit & a new cooling fan, thinking that might be over heating. Any ideals will be appreciated. Thank You

Re: SF-755P LASER FAX
IF WORDS GET STRETCHED ONLY ON RECEIVING AND NOT ON PRINTING OR COPYING FRONM THE MACHINE, THE PROBLEM LIES WITH THE TELEPHONE LINE DISTURBANCE
YOU MAY TRY GETTING THE PHONE LINE CHECKED /CHANGING THE CABLE LENGTH SETTING OR ATTENUATION LEVEL IN THE TECHNICAL MODE..

The Fax Drum Is The Heart Of The Machine. When you scan a page to send a fax or copy the Image of that is processed through laser unit & printed on the drum & after that the drum rolls on & prints the image on the paper & then the paper passes through the Heat Roller & the image is pressed on it & the copy or fax comes out.
if you have changed the drum/toner unit then the machine should have a fuse on top of the drum unit.I have come across some cartridges that don't have them on the unit. The fuse resets the fax so that it knows there is a new unit installed. If that does work then clear the machines memory using the control panel
does this happen with every recieved fax from every number... ? if so then the either the drum or fuser is bad... open unit and take a soft cloth and clean drum... look at the fuser see if you can match smudge to fuser or drum...
Plug a phone in to fax port, Is there a dial tone there also? can you dial a number and make a call from the fax port? You should be able to with a regular phone. If you can't, try plugging in the fax machine to the other port where your phone is plugged in. try sending a fax.If it works there, then the Vonage device or your service itself is the problem.
take drum unit out, and locate blue tab on bottom of drum unit. take the tab and slide back and forth several times, making sure you return tab to the same side it was on. then, locate the small **** glass that covers your laser, which is located on the bottom of the machine right under where your drum would be, and clean that with a cloth and alcohol or windex. if that doesn't help, your drum may be worn out.
Black lines are usually a sign that you have toner on the laser slip glass which is usually situated above the drum unit, its just a little bit of glass if u give this a wipe and get toner on ur finger or rag then thats probably what wrong. If you don't I would look at your drum unit as it might not be cleaning correctly, which would mean getting a new one.
Hope you find this info helpful.
You need to use the [MENU], [< >] and [ENTER] keys to browse
through the unit's menu. Find and enter the "System Setup" menu and
then search for the "Ignore Toner" option. Press [ENTER] and change the
setting to "ON". Press [ENTER to confirm, the, [STOP/CLEAR] to get out
of the menu system. The unit should start printing all faxes in memory.
