Question about Liquid Video L17LCD2 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

3 Answers

My monitor just flickers off, glitches on for a split second, then glitches off. I know its not the settings on the computer because I have another computer that works fine, but when I plug this monitor to it it continues its annoying flicker. I never had a power surge or anything. I dont understand what could have caused this. Is this screen salvageable or is it screwed?

My L17LCD2 monitor does the same thing. I see the parts are replaceable.
Where can I get them and how do I replace them myself?

Hi imkindacool, Sounds like the back light inverter board is bad. It's a very common problem. LCD's use four small cold compact fluorescent bulbs to back light the display. (thats what gives the LCD it's brightness allowing you to see it) The inverter board runs these lights and when they go bad they will typically show symptoms like you have or the monitor power light comes on and you have either no display or a very dim display. If you ever have one that has no display but the power light is on you can check by shining a flashlight directly into the LCD from the front (right into the screen) if you can see an image then it's either the inverter board (most likely) or the CCFL bulbs have gone bad. The inverter board and CCFL's are replaceable. Good Luck, El Duderino

Had same problem with Loewe Calida 32" (Model CAL 232). Technician readily traced probolem to fault in flyback transformer (Part 13720016). In stock at Technotronic-dimensions.com at $39.99. Labor to remove and replace was $100. 1372001613720016

My samsung lcd (model name - 933sn) monitor screen is flickering in every 2 seconds, although i have set the recommended resolution setting 1360 x 768, and the refresh rate is 60 hz, i have already...

This could be an issue with your computer's video output card rather than the monitor. Try connecting your monitor to another known good computer and see if it still flickers; you can also try connecting another LCD monitor to your computer, and see if the same behavior occurs.

Hope that's helpful.

Blank screen

You said it correct the fluorescent bulbs are going bad, unfourtunately the are part of the screen (panel).
to replace the panel make sure you get the exact part # from the panel inside rear and check prices online and on ebay.

LG1719S blank screen but with a flicker

Its a problem with the lcd and the cost to replace the screen is more then the cost of getting a new monitor.

The screen flickers into hour-glass figure.

It's the tube going out. You need to replace it. If you want to stay with CRT monitors, you should be able to pickup a used one for around $10.00 on Craigslist.

Monitor shuts off during boot. Let the machine boot full up, hit the power button, the monitor flashes windows for a split second, and goes back to power saving mode

Hey there Celius,

Chances are the 'Refresh Rate' somehow got set too high for the monitor. On flatscreens , the result is a black screen.

If you have an old monitor (crt type) hook that up temporarily and reboot.
  • Right Click the Desktop
  • Click Properties
  • Click Settings
  • Click Advanced
  • Click Monitor
  • Lower the refresh rate or set at optimal
  • Check the box 'Hide refresh rates this monitor can't display'
Shutdown, Switch back monitors and try it now.

Good luck
Mike

Monitor flashes image for split second then goes blank but green LED flashes as well

while the monitor is still powered on, but with the LED flashing, unplug the monitor from the PC. press the power button, and the monitor should go off, now plug the pc back into the monitor. Turn the monitor back on and it should work.

Occasionally this will not work for me, but if I repeat it it normally works

Hope this helps - my problem is intermitant so it may be different to what u guys have
