Question about Grundig Satellit 800 AM/FM/SW Radio

Loses sound Mine is a Grundig Satellit 500 but symptom can be common to the 500 and 800. FM plays fine on power on for about one minute then static. Can tell that the radio is seeking when using "search" and "scan" buttons. AM/Shortwave only static with same response using "search" and "scan".

    Well: my problem is on my satellit 500, I have a hard time getting AM stations, I'll get them for a while then lose them altogther. Nothing but hummmmming. I've had the radio in for the same repairs 3 times and it will work for about an hour and hummmmmming.

It is soppoused to seek when pressing search and scan and scan buttons If you dont like the idea of that for now on only use tuning up and down dial or buttons.

Try moving it to another location to test the antenna strength. It sounds like it is picking up interference.

Grundig 750 'Satellit' radio. Works fine on batteries, new power supply AC-DC the radio shuts off or displays LOW on screen.
On the rear where the power adapter plugs in, it should show in input voltage and polarity. Check the power supply output voltage with a volt meter. Generally, it is the sum total of all the batteries, so it if takes 4xAA @1.5 volt batteries the voltage would be 6 volts DC. It sounds like it is faulty.

It's lowest operating frequency should be 100 kHz, unless it has been altered. What you would hear below 100 kHz is a mystery.

THE FIRST THING YOU HAVE TO LOOK FOR IS WHAT KIND OF ADAPTER 9V 1AMP YOU SHOULD
HAVE FOR THAT PARTICULAR RADIO AND ANTENNA FOR SW AND FM SHOULD BE CONNECTED.IT MUST BE THE ADAPTER THAT'S ON THE OUTS NOT ENOUGH VOTAGE TO POWER THE RADIO.

I have a Grundig Satellit 500 "Radio Boy"
If you sent it in 3 times, then I would suggest getting a new one if you know for sure that other's work in that area. If other's don't work, then then you have some type of interception between the radio waves and your radio. There is nothing I can do about that, and probably nothing you can do.

Otherwise, you should get a new radio.

I had such a pb.
IC 103 CX7961 stopt to oscillate after ~30s ...
so the plls ref was out
I changed it without results
In fact the plastic trimmer C138 (4-20pf) was bad???( insulation?)
Since changing (10 years ago) : no problem
