Palystation wont work

Try a video reset.

While the PS3 is off (solid red light) Hold down the power button until you hear the SECOND BEEP, quickly release.

Check to see if you get video now. Let me know what happens.

1)Turn off your playstation 3. If you think your ps3 has been caught by the heat, then wait at least 20 minutes and put it back on again
2) Check if there's any loose cable.
3) Try to put out your playstation's hard-drive, and put it back in. You might want to repeat this 2-3 times for better results.


If this did not work

Send your playstation 3 back to Sony

the palystation network was down for 2 days if doesnt fix by itself reset your network connection

try this:
press 'select' button--> 7444-->enter new pass code--> re-enter new pass code

movie should start.

Ok I had the smae problem, did trouble shoot with sony who had me reset defualt setting. Then wanted to charge me 149.00 to fix, So I went to you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pjjnz0AlMk , and the had me turn system off and then on , hold button on PSP3 system down for 3 beaps the light stays red , then take your finger off and hold for 3 beeps the first beep dosen't count. their will be a menu pop up and select menu item 3, and it will tell you your harddrive is corrupt, select restore, I had to do this twice and now my palystation is working and I don't have to pay Sony a dime. Check You tube for issues, I found a lot of great help there. Hope this fixes this for you as well.

You need to replace the blu-ray laser. It's a VERY common problem. It's due to a factory defect with the laser.

Most 80GB models use laser model KES-400A or KES-400AAA.

You can either contact Sony for repair 1-800-345-SONY.

They charge $150 or you can go the DIY route for under $100.

i suggest that you take it back where you bought it if possible, because like you said if the tray wont close something inside the box was destroyed.
