Random white dots on screen

I purchased this EDTV about two years ago and from day one it has little white dots randomly about the screen. I've tried messing with the contrast and such. I see the dots when watching a Satellite feed and DVD. I tried Composite and S-Vide cables of the higtest quality. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Jake

Hi I had the same problem with mine except it was green dots randomly appearing. replaced xsus and ysus board and problem went away.
but now I have a red line going vertically down the screen.

White does suggest (dots) a damaged or bad optical light engine.

Have you spoken to Toshiba? It may be well worth while as their screens normally last a very long time.

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

White dots on screen of 50 Samsung DLP

Random dots or pixels failing on a DLP TV will be a bad DMD chip. This is a technician replace item only. The chip runs around 160 dollars list price. The part number will depend on which version the set uses and will be determined by the technician.
