Cannot finalize a dvd.

I'm new to the tech way of life. I bought the insignia ns-drvcr as a display model from best buy. From other comments I fear the outcome of the purchase. But I don't have the remote. I figured out how to get it to record on dvd+r. However, I can't finalize the disk. Online manual does not give good enough directions. Can any one help? Thanks.

Thanks electech1. I'll give it a shot. I just ordered the original remote control from mrremotecontrol.com. Hopefully that will give me a button feature to select the finalization. Thanks again.

Being that it is a display model , there are acouple of things it could be
first try cleaning the laser lens with a disk that goes in there , if that don't let it finalize then the laser lens should be cleaned manually, and if that don't do it then there is an internal problem ,which then it would need repair

Dvd wont load

Try multiple store bought dvd's if all of them don't work then the dvd drive will need to be replaced. Usually the manufacturer will replace it instead of repairing. Repairing is usually as expensive as just buying a new one.

Instructions on how to burn from my insignia DVD to VHS

my Insignia is a different model (NS-drVCR) but I always use the "DUBBING" button on the remote (which is basically the tech-term for a Recording-Transfer). The screen-dialog then shows VHS Dubbing to DVD with quality options to choose. I'm not as familiar with going the other way (from DVD to VHS) but I know that mine can since I've done it once with a similar method, starting with the DUB-button.

Dvd won't play back on another dvd player

Has the DVD disk been FINALIZED? my Insignia is a different model (NS-DRVCR), but I'm guessing they might work the same where one of the menu options is to Finalize your disc. This makes it so it can be read in other players.

Lost instructions, cannot create DVD from cam-corder recording

Thanks, I already solved the problem. There was no "Setup" button (on the remote, anyway) to follow the instructions given -- in the manual, which I downloaded!.

Instead, I remembered that "Input" often allows you to select a source for something, so when I chose THAT button, I was able to choose the port that had my cam-corder.

Then I simply pressed record on the DVD player while Play on the C-C.

Insignia portable dvd NS Pdvd8 need battery

Hey redhouse2,

Because Insignia® is a brand primarily carried by Best Buy™ stores, there are two basic ways that you should be able to obtain a replacement battery: by contacting Insignia® technical support, or by ordering a replacement through Best Buy Partsearch.

You may always reach Insignia® by calling their toll-free hotline at (877)-467-4289. If you would prefer a self-service option, simply visit the www.Bestbuy.com website, and follow the link at the bottom of the page that says "Order Parts." Additionally, you may always contact a Partsearch agent by calling our toll-free hotline at 888-Best-Buy (888-237-8289), and requesting to speak with a parts specialist.

Please keep in mind that while some third-party companies may carry compatible batteries for this model, if your DVD player is still under the manufacturer's warranty (or a Best Buy Performance Service Plan) you may wish to seek the replacement part through Insignia® or Best Buy™ first to avoid any unnecessary charges.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
