The range is only 2-1/2 years old and the oven quit working about 6 months ago. The top burners still light and work correctly but when the oven knob is turned on, the oven does not heat at all. It seems to be getting gas, but will not light or heat.
Dont know if this will help but i just discovered there is a switch for oven. you need to lift up the hood by the burners and in the far far back right corner a square metal box where the gas line goes into u will find a up down switch (black so u cant see it too well of course ) this switch needs to be in the up position, it feeds the gas to the oven. check this out if u have a glow lite it will take a little bit before the oven lites between 3 min and 5 minutes. hope this helps you

Re: Oven does not heat
Gowen, more than likley it's your ignitor that failed. Remove the ovens bottom panel by removing the 2 screws in back and lifting up. Remove the nut from the flame spreader and you will see the ignitor. Now turn the oven on and look at the ignitor, does it glow. Even if it does, it needs to draw at least 3.2 amps to open the gas valve. Part number for the ignitor is 5303935066. Easy job. Catriver...post back.

You will have to check that the switch is is working ok , with a vault meter check for voltage at the burner , if none check at the switch and so forth back to the wall switch, if there is vaults at the burner it is faulty .
Hi, If your electric oven is not heating then you probably have a bad heating lelement in your oven. This is not that hard to fix yourself... Check out this tip that I wrote about the Oven not heating problem..
Sounds like you need an bake element ignitor if the bake doesn't work but if the broil also doesn't work, it could be the electronic clock/timer control. the part number for the bake ignitor is 8054129 .Best off to call a reliable service company such as Sears.
Had a similar issue - but my unit is eight years old. Turns out my issues were my oven ignitors were failing and one of the burners had corroded causing the flame to only light on one side. To fix I replaced two ignitors (apparently they are to be replaced every 3-5 years) and cleaned the burner with a brass wire brush. If you are handy the ignitors are easy to replace - one screw and two wires each. Burner was one screw to remove.
Ceramic ignitors if wearing out can cause delayed lighting of the oven burners and/or reduce the gas flow - hence not heating up.
The most common reason a gas oven won't heat is a bad igniter. It is located near the valve and burner under the oven bottom. You can usually see it glow orange just before the fire lights. Most GE ranges take a cylindrical igniter part #WB2X9154 or #WB13K21 rectangular igniter.
I have fix that problem before, the oven heat is soficating the top burners, you will have to adjust top burners with the oven on, so that they will light by them selfs.Or put a shield under the cook top section on the back, so that the heat will not come to the burners where they get the oxigen.
