Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. One among it has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the relative post easily.

Open the door on the receiver, and hit the menu button twice. With the remote in hand, hit sat, then record. Then use the remote to exit the menu. Voila!
SOURCE: my one for all won't program...
dish network remotes are universal, you can program your receiver, vcr/dvd, telivision and stereo to most remotes. if you need info on this just post again, otherwise i would list your issue under the remote brand
SOURCE: can't get the remote to work at all
First press the SAT button at the top left hand side of the remote and release. Now try changing channels. If this did not work press the menu button twice on the receiver. It will usually be behind a pop open door on the right of the receiver. I f your receiver does not have these buttons you can access the system info screen by pressing the power button on the receiver while holding down the arrow left or right key.
Once you have come to the SYSTEM INFO SCREEN press and hold the SAT button on the top left side of the remote until all lights across the top light up. Then key in a two digit number e.g. 01-16 and press the #key. then press the record button and the remote address for the location you are trying to control should change to the number you keyed in. If this is the second location tv that was giving you issues exit out of all the screens on the receiver location tv and go to the other location and try the remote. If it is the tv where the receiver is located then you should now be able to use the remote to maneuver the yellow cursor across the screen. If you need further assistance please let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
SOURCE: Dish 20.0 IR Remote works for awhile then it
I MAY have a solution!! We too have the VIP722 Dish Network receiver. Ours is the "K" model. I called the place where we purchased the TV and they said that the "brightness" on the TV may need to be turned down. He walked me through this, and it worked. The remote WORKS now!! Our TV is a 40" Sony Bravia that we purchased a couple of months ago. Evidently at night, the TV was so bright in the room, it interfered with the Infared Remote control. By turning down "off" brightness detector on the TV, the IR remote was able to send the signal to the receiver. Our TV is on a cabinet and the receiver is directly underneath on a shelf. I hope this solves your problem and anyone else's that may have this problem with the remote.

First the only way the 6.3 will work is if it has the green number 1 on the tab facing you. Assuming this is the case you will need a new remote. This primarily is the remote for the second room away from the receiver. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

You can power scan for the code.
Turn ON the electronic device you want to program the remote to control.
Press the Mode button( sat,tv,dvd, aux) on the remote until the appropriate mode light is flashing.
Press the Power button. The mode light will stop flashing and stay lit.
Press the Up or Down arrow button to set the remote to the next code. The Down arrow button scans backward and the Up arrow button scans forward.
When the correct code is reached, the device (whether a TV, VCR, or other) will turn off.
Press the pound key button to store the code in the remote control memory. If the code is valid for your remote, the mode light will blink 3 times.
Turn the device back ON by pressing the Power button.
Press sat mode key once you power back on the tv to be able to operate the receiver box.
Try some other functions to make sure you have the correct code. Occasionally the Power button may work when others do not.
If the other buttons work you are finished.
.
If the other buttons do not work, repeat the previous steps. The scan will resume from the last code stored.
The mode light will flash rapidly when the scan has returned to the starting point and all codes have been tested for that mode. The remote control may not control some device models.
