Sony cyber shot DSC-W1 Digital Camera

Tried Brand new batterys (nimh) and still no power turn on. Press reset nothing move or cahang at all. What's wrong with it? Never been in water or sand. Anybody got any clue?

Yes, you can get new battery holder that comes with cover, part number is as follows:

Camera won't turn on to take pictures~

This is a common problem related to batteries. Use 2100mA or higer batteries fully charge batteries. This problem occurs when you use alkaline batteries or faulty NiMH batteries. To solve the problem try with new fully charged NiMH batteries.

Cant go to picture mode, error on screen shoes

try to remove the battery first for a few minutes...then retry. This might help reset the system

I'm not sure if this will help but you might want to try removing the memory card and powering it back up. If the camera stays on than there is probably something wrong with the card. Try a new card and see if that helps.

sounds like a battery power problem or problem with the terminal of the camera ; you know the point where the battery meets the camera.
I would recommend a service center

try resetting the camera once ... remove the batteries and press the power button for few seconds and put ur batteries back !!

I've seen a lot of DSC-W1 cameras where the power switch/shutter button assembly goes bad. This is most likely the case.

Make sure you use good, high-power batteries. I had a camera that couldn't use cheap batteries, as they didn't have enough juice. Check the battery contacts in your camera tho see if there may be corrosion or shorts that may drain the batteries when you insert them.
