I have a copy of SST and the firmware for IR 6020 but unfortunately I dont have a Parallel cable and the Crossover cable does not work as it should be (can ping but SST show an error). SST is working fine but our unit might have a problem

I tried to convert the IDE HDD to SATA HDD and it worked. Then SATA HDD to SATA SSD and it also worked

Turn on holding down 1 and 9 keys. will go through a long complete format. If blocks do not fall down through screen left to right, HDD is completely gone.

Eroor display on the screen E602-0000

E602 Is a hard disk error you can Turn the machine off Hold Down the 1 and 9 keys while powering the machine on continue to hold keys until you see activity on the screen. This is a disk check that you can try. 90% of E602 codes require harddrive replacement the other 10% are usually corrupt firmware or a bad boot rom.

602 error code

E602 is a hard disk error. If the machine is coming up and working sometimes and not others, then either your hard drive is going bad or there is a corrupt file in the firmware. Try reloading system software if the issue is still present replace the hard drive. Loading system software requires special software (Service Support Tool) made by Canon.

..ir3300 and I get and

E602-0001 is a Hard disk error, reinstalled software, hard drive or DC controller bad

The E602-001 codes mean that the device cannot find the system software it needs to complete the boot up process. It is stored on the hard drive. The system software is either corrupt or the hard drive is going/gone bad and therefore the device can't access the data. It's almost certain the hard drive has gone bad as it will corrupt the system software as it crashes. You can purchase an "off the shelf" hard drive BUT the problem is that it will need to be formatted and have the system software put on it. The utility used to do this is called SERVICE SUPPORT TOOL and is proprietary and can only be downloaded from the Canon support site, and you have to have a valid Canon issued support I.D.

Now you can TRY to revive the hard drive, and it may last a bit longer. Turn off the MAIN power switch located on the right side rear of the device. Now hold down the "1 and 9 " numbers on the operator control panel. Keep them held down as you power up the machine.Keep them held down until you see a blank screen and light colored blocks will begin to drop from the top of the screen to the bottom.

You are now defragmenting the hard drive. This takes a while so go knit a sweater. You'll know its done when the blocks stop falling. Then power the machine off again, wait a few seconds and power it back up normally. This may buy some time.I wish I had better news,I'm very sorry. But at least you know whats going on and perhaps the defrag will help you for a while.

You have a faulty hard disk. Replace hard disk and you have to re install software back in machine. Unless this is done the machine will not work.

Canon ir 2200 help

For problems with the hard disk on the Canon ImageRunner (my model is 2220n):

Step 1: Unplug the unit (leaving power switch on), and then plug back in while holding down the 1 and 9 keys

Step 2: Wait. The hard disk will reformat - you should see at first a flashing white block in the upper right hand corner, then you will see white blocks building rows on the screen left to right with the screen eventually filling entirely. This may take an hour or more.

Step 3: After reformatting, your screen should say "Download Mode" at the bottom. Now just turn the machine off, unplug it for a few seconds, plug it back in, and then turn it on (you must switch power toggle off and then on - not sure if unplugging is necessary but it worked for me).

This site is great and has saved us at least $1,000 on copier repair this year - repairs that really didn't require a tech at all.

Good luck.
