I have recently purchased sony DSC-H2 with a 2GB memory stick. The camera is working excellent, the problem is with memory stick.
I can not store more than 50 images in one folder. When the no. of images stored on memory stick exceeds 50, the image shows me an error. I have tried to create a new folder and store the images in the new folder, but the same thing happen again.
Is there anything I need to setup?????
Thank You

Re: Memory Stick Problem
Try to use a smaller file size maybe vga if your just gonna use your pictures in internet or 3M is goos to. files with this type just take up a little space in your memory.

The DSC-P71 Camera is compatible only with the 32MB / 64MB / 128MB Memory Stick Duo only. Standard Memory Stick media cannot be used with this Camera. It's bit hard to find out these Memory Sticks as most of the Companies discontinued manufacturing low capacity Memory Sticks. However you can try contacting a Sony Store or any Sony dealers near your area to get one.
Yes, you need to have memory stick because camera has limited internal memory that can store few pictures only. Put new memory card, format it through camera Menu and copy internal memory pictures to memory stick, take our memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures either one by one or format internal memory through camera Menu. Thanks.
Hello, The camera does not recognize the card because
1. Card not compatible 2. Camera cannot handle such a large capacity. 3.Card not inserted correctly. Maybe a recent firmware update can address the 2nd limitation.
this camera doesnt take mem stick pro. has to be the original lavender sticks.msh-ms128 is the model # only goes up to 128 mb. only stick that will work with that cam.
Is your new 2GB memory stick is original from Sony or after market? some of them will not detect in CAM because the contact on MS were not touched iside the slot of CAM
Reinsert your 512 MB MS if it work fine then change your 2MB MS
Good luck
If you have a computer with a memory card reader that takes the stick. insert it into the computer and goto my computer find the memory stick drive letter and format it their then retry the stick in the camera. also try to go into the cameras menu and try formatting it their if you cannot format the stick it is very possible it is bad.
When you download to the computer, what program do you open with? Try not using the auto-open feature, and open direct from new device in "my computer". Ed
have you tried formating the memory stick on the computer and see if that works? how did you put the pictures on the computer? via the USB that came with the camera? or did you use the memory stick and put it into the camera?
