Almost all early Quantaray lenses (and Sigma lenses, Sigma made Quantaray) in the Canon EOS mount will show error messages on Canon digital cameras (but still work fine on older EOS film cameras). usually err99 but err01 also. There is no DIY fix and Sigma ran out of update parts years ago. Current production lenses and Canon made lenses will not have this problem. This lens would only work for someone shooting EOS film cameras with no intention of "upgrading" their system to digital Canon cameras in the future.
I would contact the ebay seller to see if they still have the serial number. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any legal way to get around this. You could try calling the manufacturer to see if they will provide a new one, but I would be 99.999% sure they will say no.
It's the HP site for the software for your camera. You don't need any information. Just pick your operating system that your running on your computer. On the next page choose HP Photosmart Full Featured Software and Drivers. On the next page, click the blue button and choose save. Make sure your pick a place to save it so you can remember (like the desktop). Then go to the desktop and install the software. By the way, the version your after is 9.0, not 2.0.
