I can't get my xerox scanner to work

For that first you need to uninstall old driver and software with revo uninstaller. Click here Download from above link and install then uninstall old driver and software with it. Also go to device manager right click on my computer then click on property then ->device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it will automatic install all usb drivers download driver from your printer's manufecturer web sites then install. Lets check whether windows detects your scanner

Right click My Computer > Manage > Device Manager

Under Device Manager check Imaging Devices

If there Double click Imaging Devices and check the device under that. If you find your scanner there .Then the scanner is installed properly

Now Lets try a test scan

If Windows Xp do this .
Click start > Run > Type wiaacmgr.exe press enter key
Now take a test scan

If your windows is vista / win 7 then
click start > All programs > accessories > Run
on Run window > Type wiaacmgr.exe press enter key
Now take a test scan

4> see the imaging device (USB1200 Scanner) on device manager
5> install Microtek Scanwizard sofrware cd with win_xp support
6> when installed the driver reboot your pc or manual reoot later

The LS2000 is older than XP and has some fairly tight requirements to work. The recommended SCSI adapter is an Adaptec 2906, and you will probably need to backrev the ASPI layer driver files to version 4.7 (available on adaptec.com site). You may need to boot in Safe Mode to remove the later versions of the ASPI files before you can install the 4.7 files. You will also need to update your Nikon Scan software to version 3.1.2, available online by googling "nikon scan 3.1.2".

Go to site http://support.visioneer.com/products/home/EOL/Memorex/
Download/save application file 6142. Check file properties, under compatibility select "run this program..." and choose Windows XP(Service Pack 2). if u do not have a vista option
Then run the program.

Second the Vuescan reco. That's what I use. OTOH, a dual boot machine with an XP partition can also solve the problem. A real PITA but feasible (I have one).

For those folks who have Windows 7...
Click start from menu (bottom left of window pane),
Click "Devices and Printers",
Click on the HP printer listed,
Click "scan a document or picture"...

CALL IT DONE!!!! Gotta LOVE Windows 7...EASY!

you've probably long since fixed this, but when this happened to me, i needed to unplug the scanner entirely from the computer, deinstall the driver, reinstall the driver, then plug in the scanner, let it be detected, and then it worked. another time when this happened and the above didn't work, i had to delete a usb root something-or-other, reboot yet again, let windows fix itself first, then do the scanner install all over again.
