HDD FORMAT ERROR FOR SONY HANDYCAM DCR-SR21, when it is turned on it gives error and I am unable to retrieve my recordings please help

This is usually a problem with the internal memory
Did you try to Format it ?
go to the Home menu, then Manage HDD/Memory. Then "format".

try connecting the camcorder to a pc using the cable, sometimes a pc can fix the drive. or you will need to do a factory reset. press in the rest button next to the lcd screen for 3 seconds.

Try another drive and see if does the same thing. If so your unit is bogus. If not, the first drive is bogus and maybe a format will restore it. Not like you have much choice.

Somewhere in the menu there is a function 'clear' ('leegmaken' in dutch). I used it and the problem was solved!! Unfortunately I can't find it anymore. You should try it!

I get Error.No. 31.00 HDD format error on my Sony ECR SR32

Recently purchased a camcorder DCR-SR68 and we took all our wedding video on it. It now says HDD format error and all my video is gone. I tried resetting didn't work, took out the battery, didn't work. Sony told me to format the drive but that also not function. couldn;t format that.
Is it possible to recover this video??? can i solve that problem?
