Faded image horizontal lines on pictures but LCD is normal.

My camera intermittantly takes faded pictures with horizontal lines. The image on the LCD is fine until I press the focus button. SONY says this is not the CCD issue. What else could it be?

Sony at first refused to hear my complaint. They said it was not a CCD problem because the problem was intermittant. Fortunatly the camera was still under warranty, and the technician for the warranty concern confirmed that it was a CCD failure and that they would send it back to Sony for me. I contacted Sony with this informatiion and as soon as they heard "technician" they immediatly issued a repair voucher form and number. I sent a letter with the camera explaining my problems in detail, a CD with the faulty images, and a web link describing the problem. The recall was honored. The camera was repaired free and returned in two weeks. It has not had a problem since.

I have the same problem with my DSC-F717. It started on Christmas eve. I contacted Sony and at first the said it was the CCD and a free repair, but I knew it didn't meet the criteria. The bottom line was that it was gong to cost $211.00 flat fee to repair it. Pleas let me know if you have any luck. [email protected]

Casio EX-S600 digital camera takes good photos, but the display is really ghosted with a very faded picture and vertical color bands through it. It worked fine earlier today and has not be dropped. Any...

Hi,

First verify that you didn't just accidentally turn off the LCD. To check, turn the camera on and press the "DISPLAY" or "DISP" button once. One other thing to check is that faded pictures can sometimes be caused by a stuck shutter. Potential symptoms may also include purple scratchy lines showing up on the LCD monitor and the camera's pictures. Other reported symptoms may be extremely distorted images (one reader likened them to the movie "Grudge"). Or blank or black pictures or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card. You may suspect that the camera's shutter is not opening, but this is not the case. Note that the camera's menu functions should show up without any problem. Please note that your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. Note that they're going to look for dings and dents. This is a CCD failure and in some cases had been subject to a recall. Contact Casio support-this may be one of the recalls and replacement camera could be on its way. They will do it for free of cost.

Thank you!!

FinePix F470 Lines on images and faded colors on photo mode.

You have over exposed pictures due to the shutter sticking.
The video is the clue to the problem. It doesn't use the shutter.
Shutter needs to be cleaned. This is no easy task im afraid

Image in LCD shows mulitple horizontal whie lines

This sure looks like a CCD image sensor failure. If so, you can't fix this yourself. If the camera is less than a year old, Canon will fix this for you under warranty. Call 1-800-OK-CANON.

Faded color, no images showing up.

Report this to Nikon. There is a report of the batch of faulty CCD units being built into cameras of all makes- if yours is one of then it will be replaced frre of charge.

Faded screen with lines across screen

hi Jenredd, i think there is something wrong with ccd, if so it is serious... . I experienced some disturbed picture on lcd or whole black lcd due to ccd problem. As u said you pictures are fadded it means may be ccd is damaged. If so you have to replace the ccd at any authorised repairer for fuji. as you mentioned other problem there is nothing common between both. for that i suppose there is some problem in either usb socket or cord , so first check the cord, if it is ok then we can doubt on usb socket. But in both the way you have to go to Fuji . good luck
