Printer

Windows comes with drivers for many HP printers.

You can try to install your HP deskjet 5440 by going to (depending on operating system) "Start", "Printers and Faxes", "Add Printer". Select a local port. Select "HP" and Model "HP Deskjet 5440".

If 5440 is not in your list, or if you want the latest driver, you can download the driver for your specific operating system here:

Not printing

Forgive me for asking, but are you sure you removed the protective tape on the bottom corner of the cartridge?

You might want to print a diagnostic test print. With th eprinter on, press and hold the power button and hit the (X) cancel button, then release both buttons.
