We are replaceing the lamp with a new lamp and lamp housing. Is there anything thing special we need to do other than slide the old housing unit out and slide the new one back in? The reason I ask is because we replaced it and our lamp light in front is still blinking.

Nothing else is required except inserting it right which is not hard==lamp does not seem to be your problem, Other things will cause this issue as well, it is not always the lamp that is bad.

One thing you might want to do is remove here the new lamp unit to make sure it went in clean and straight, With it removed look in the direction the lamp faces for the color wheel, look to see it is intact and not shattered, I attach a photo.

I mention as this is also a common issue in this set, usually proceeded by a high pitched fan like sound or even when failing a grinding noise.

SOURCE: Samsung DLP HL-P5063W. . .no lamp!

Remove the rear cover and check the lamp cover switch. Earlier versions used a black plastic switch holder that may break due to improper assembly. The part number for the holder is BP61-01240A. Newer versions use a metal tab attached to the engine. In this case, improper assembly may cause the lamp cover switch to be extended past its range, either breaking the switch or causing it to have an open contact. Replace the switch with BP91-01231A.

Note that in these models, when reinstalling the rear cover, it is best to remove the lamp cover first, install the rear cover, then install the lamp cover. This will make sure that the lamp switch is properly engaged.

SOURCE: installed new lamp/how to reset the lamp hour meter on samsung (HL-S4666W)

Here is the procedure for resetting the lamp timer.

This is a quick reference guide to show you how to reset your Samsung DLP TV’s lamp hour meter or hour counter. Resetting the counter is a very simple procedure.
Begin with the TV powered off.
Point your remote towards your TV.
Press:
Mute + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power.

Your TV set should now say “Loading Factory”.

Browse down to “Option” then press Enter (or the right cursor button).

NOTE: The Mute+1+8+2 buttons needs to be pressed down consecutively and fairly quickly. If your TV does not enter the service menu after using this combination, you can substitute MENU instead of MUTE. This seems to work for some sets. Also, the right cursor arrow also acts as the ENTER button, so try it if you’re having difficulty with the ENTER button.
To exit the service menu, hit press the EXIT button or just turn off your TV (remember not to turn on your TV immediately afterwards!).

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

SOURCE: Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

How do you replace a bulb in samsung projection tv hls5668wx

There is a video of the procedure here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/HL-S5686W . Make sure to get the exact matching lamp code number and type. This is listed on the right side of the TV and on the lamp case.

Then turn off the TV and let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Make sure not to touch the glass with your bare hands (particularly with the new lamp). Remove the single screw from the lamp cover and then remove the lamp cover. Remove the lamp cover duct by holding the locker and pulling it towards you. Next remove the screw holding the lamp in the housing. Separate the lamp from the housing by holding the handle and pulling it towards you. Reverse the process with the new lamp. Make sure the lamp cover is seated properly and the screw tightened to get the TV to come on.

I hope this helps.

All 3 LED's are blinking on my 56 inch LCD Model HL-S5686W. It turns off after about 15 seconds. I've seen a couple problems like this on this forum and I don't think its my lamp, it still looks pretty...

first try re-seating the lamp by pulling it out and sliding it back in. You would need to take off right side back cover. Sometimes this can clear the error and may fix the problem altogether. If no, try clean All the fans inside the Television to preserve the life of the lamp.

My lamp burned out and I got the replacecent lamp from samsungparts.com, but the housing didnt fit into the tv. So I put the new lamp in the old housing, after verifying the lamp was the correct part...

According to an aftermarket lamp manufacturer, there are 2 different lamps (1st and 2nd generations) available for the Samsung HL-R4667W, but only one of them will actually fit. The lamp that is commonly associated with this model, BP96-00826A, is used in housing that has a silver bump protruding from the opposite side as the front face of the bulb itself. The other type, BP96-01073A, is placed in a housing that has a smooth back face and a overall larger bulb. I can verify that the HL-R4667W that I own seems to have the second type of lamp.

As long as you didn't open the housing of the lamp that you purchased to try to install the lamp in the housing that your TV came with, you might still be able to request an exchange from samsungparts.com, given the circumstances.

Can't see picture on my samsung tv...lamp, timer and standby light are blinking on the power button

You need to replace the lamp. Order the correct type and code number (from samsungparts.com or the store where you bought the TV). Before starting the replacement, make sure the TV has been off for at least 30 minutes and unplug the set. Remove the phillips screw that holds the lamp cover and then the lamp cover itself. Remove the two screws that hold the lamp to the housing. Pull the old lamp out by the handle. Put the old lamp in a safe place until you can properly dispose of it.

Handle your new lamp carefully (wear gloves to avoid skin oils on the lamp). Put the new lamp in the housing and close up the TV by reversing the above steps (secure screws, replace lamp cover).

I hope this helps.
