Philips DVDR 3455H/37 stuck with philips display

Tech guy1 suggested formatting the HDD with low level formatting. Then fully formatting it with NTFS and loading the firmware CD, finally I was able to make the DVDR3455H/97 work and run normally. How do I do this I tried pluggin in recorder usb to my laptop usb but don't see it when I go to my computer.

SOURCE: dvdr 3455H/97 hard disk unable to reboot

from krystle i am an electronic tec:
what i have found the big difference between the philips dvdr3455h and the dvdr3575h is the
dvdr3455h boot from software on the hard drive and the dvdr3575h boot from an eprom.
the dvdr3455 has both booth software and movie edit software, if the hard drive become
bad in the 3455 or the software become corrupted it wil hang at the philips logo screen.
the dvdr3575h will boot with a bad hard drive or no hard drive at all you will you wont be able to
capture your video to the hard drive.
if the movie edit software become corrupt or damage when you press record button
it will just lock up the recorder.you will need a software reload if the software become corrupt.

if you need a reload on your hard drie email me i will tell you what you need to do my email is [email protected]

SOURCE: Philips dvdr3455h/37 stuck in "load" state of boot

Try holding down the standby on button on the player not on the remote control until the unit resets. Complete the reset within the unit's menus as well and try again.

My remote for the Philips DVDR 3455 stopped working. What can I do?

hello. Begin by replacing the batteries in your remote. If that does not make a difference go to any walmart or radio shack and purchase a universal remote control.

I have a Philips Model DVDR 3505/37 recorder. I recently hooked up a RCA analog to digital converter to the TV and to the DVD. Now it will not record. No error messages. Just no recording. Thanks

The Philips DVDR 3505/37 has a built-in analog to Digital converter. No additional converter is needed. Just do the scan for over the air channels and set to go. Works fine now.

Stuck in "UPDATE"

I just found on the Philips website a file to download and have the DVDR use to update itself to fix that problem and a few others. I've not tried it yet but will be doing so tomorrow. It's worth a shot.

Philips dvdr3455h/37 recording issues

I was having the same problem if I used DVD+R blanks, but the programs would record fine if I used Memorex DVD+RW rewritables. Until today, that is - now it won't let me burn anything from the HDD to a disk!  My 3455H is about two years old.
Gotta say I'm quite disappointed with it, and would never consider another Philips product. :(
