A power surge most likely damaged your printer. Printers are a cheap item and getting it repaired would most likely not a cost effective solution. To prevent power surge problem you need to connect all your computer equipment and printer to a power board with a built-in surge protection then plug this power board into the mains outlet.
The code that is flashing usually points to a main board failure. I would recommend getting it diagnosed. If you want to be gutsy and try and replace the main board yourself, MAKE SURE YOU GET A BOARD THAT MATCHES YOUR PART # EXACTLY. Sharp makes several revisions of main boards for various models, and they ARE NOT compatible.
