Cant burn a cd

Brand new acer aspire wont burn a cd but will play perfectly, all settings seen ok

drive is a writer, have tried nero, windows media and numerous others but still no luck. starts to write to disk, runs for about 3 minutes then zooms to 99% complete, ejects cd and states cd completed but cd is still blank ? driving me mad now lol.

thats all ok. i need a standalone installer .then i can burn a copy to my cd

What operating system are you using? It sounds like you need to install the drivers for it.Because the machine will know its a cdrom first but it needs drivers to read DVD and the codex to read and write

hi there.
have you check driver of the dvd room,on control panel click,click system,click hardware,click device manager,on device maneger click cd/dvd coom,then left click your cd room,click properties check driver,if no driver update,or if you have cd installer
install the driver.have a nice day

what happens when you plug the speakers in the green port? You might want to try the other audio ports because on a few new computers i have seen the speakers have to be plugged in a different hole. also make sure the speakers are plugged up to the electric plug.

Cant burn pictures to cd

There is nothing like burner wont work.
If you are using Nero then select text in the column displayed in the side pane and attach the photos, movies and etc....it will burn.

Acer Aspire 6930 on Vista. Will play CD's but will not burn CD's. Tried 4 brands of brand new CD's.

I had similar promblem burning dvds, seems i had to format the disk first. never had to do that on other pc. but itseemed to the problem AA6930 !!!

Acer aspire 2930 DVD player only opens some dvds

Try Media player classic under k-lite codec pack. Then open video files on the dvd. If it doesn't help try another codec player. If nothing helps could it be that dvd player is not capable of multilayer dvd reading.

Hi there,

Try downloading the most current Chipset drivers from Acer:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3050.html

This sorts out most blank media problems. Also, you could try a dvd/cd lens cleaner.

hi .. sir
go and try to open in safe mode .
restart >press F8.
see whether it work's..if not go to the bios setup and see the configuration and sellect . restart > delete . (for bios setup..).
replay me if any problem.. thank u sie. don't forget to fix.

Cd/dvd drive problem

Try with another brand of disk; the Matsushita UJ870 drive of our 5315 burn my Sony CD's but not my Philips CD's (my Compaq V2617LA with an older Matsushita UJ840 drive has burned Phillips CD's in the last two monts)... Remember: CD and DVD lassers are different. I think because of that, i haven't see problems with Sony, Philips and Samsung DVD's... only with CD's...
