Hi Usually with this printer, you just simply turn it off and then on again and the lights will stop flashing. This is an LSU (Laser Scanner Unit) error. If you still have the problem, it might be either the LSU needs replacing or it could be the main board. These parts might be scarce though and very expensive. It might almost be cheaper to buy new printer but that is up to you to check and decide for yourself.

Pull out the toner cartridge. Carefully put your fingers into the opening just beyond the chrome roller. A little to the left of center you will fell/see a small black plastic finger which sticks up. It should be loose - push it forward and it springs forward, release it and it returns to the original position. If your paper jam catches this finger it can become jammed and will feel rigid. Put light pressure on it either pushing to the back or pulling forward until it becomes free again. Replace the toner cartridge, close the cover and your red light should go out.

It worked for me - hope it helps someone else.

SOURCE: Red light on all the time will not print

Depends which LED light is red. The upper one with two symbols is the error LED, while the lower one is the toner LED.

If it's the top LED, then it could be a number of issues, such as an open cover or some software problem. Could be an LSU error. Try updating the driver and firmware.

If it's the bottom LED, then your toner is probably finished (or has hit the 2100 mark). Try redistributing the toner by giving it a little jiggle, or just change the whole thing.

It probably has a jam somewhere. Open each flap, remove the toner cartridge and check the paper path is clear.

the red light (online error) means that the printer is off line. How do you fix it? you press the "ok" or "reset" button and it puts it back on line and ready to print.

I have a samsung ml 1740 & its not printing, I have an error/online light on red and it does not seem to beable to pick up the paper?

unplug then plug it in again. after u hook it up with the computer try turning it on and off before u start printing!

Samsung ML 1710 won't print second page

i'm thinking it's a config-related problem. i've seen a comparable problem already. could you check the settings in the printer software? there is setting that says "print first page from different tray" if its box is checked, the printer wants to print the rest of the print job from another tray, and will block when there is no other tray available.
if you find this setting is not marked, then i propose to delete the printer driver and all settings and then downloading the most recent driver from the manufacturer's website and installing that one.

Samsung ML-1710 Printer: Online/Error (red) lite ON: won't print

It is not a computer problem, when your printer won't come to ready. The lights flashing are due to a failure of some sort - electronic, or perhaps a fuser warm up problem. The fact is, whatever the fault, it is cheaper to replace this printer than have it repaired.
