Display 'video 1' stays on all the time

Our TV is a rear projection Sony, purchased in 1990 or 1991. It still has a beautiful picture. the problem is that the display 'Video 1' in the upper right hand side of the screen is permanently on. It is possible to use the remote to turn it off briefly, but it always returns. Can you tell us how to fix it? Thanks VM

There is a "Display" button on your Sony remote that turns the display ( Video 1,2,3 etc) off and on , you probably hit it by accident like I did.

Video input channel stays on screen in upper left hand corner of my sony 57in hdtv rear projection

WITH AN ORIGINAL SONY REMOTE HIT THE DISPLAY BUTTON TO REMOVE THE INPUT ON SCREEN DISPLAY---IF YOU leave it on long enough it will burn that image into one or more of the 3 picture Tubes.

ALMOST ANY SONY TV REMOTE WILL WORK FOR THIS FUNCTION.

Kp-53xbr200 SONY video shuts off but sound stays on

Sounds like a bad solder connection. When you lose video, does the on screen display still work, and if so how about your picture in picture? If no OSD or PIP works then you may be loosing your High Voltage to the picture tubes. Some circuit board assemblies are no longer available from Sony for this model so you may be out of luck if the problem is more than a bad connection.
