When I first turn on my Samsung DLP TV (61") in the morning I hear a loud bang or knock sound, The picture and sound are unaffected, but this new problem (sound) concerns me. Wht can I do to fix the problem?
SOURCE: Samsung 61" DLP 3 Blinking lights.
all 3 lights blinking means lamp has a fault the service manual says replace the lamp. If you need the service training manual for that model let me know and I will post the link as the training manual has excellent trouble shooting breakdowns for that model DLP

first. unplug the set for 5 minutes and see if it will reboot. if it does not the you have 2 problems, the chassis is also bad. next open the lamp door cover, it is behind the speaker grill, and behind the lamp door.
take out the lamp and see if it has broken on the inside if it has it needs to be replaced. mits will send you one i believe it is about 100.00 the number is 915P020010. if the lamp looks ok then the color wheel has probably fallen apart.if this is the case the light engine need to be repaired. check out www.tv-techs.com

The color wheel is bad. You must call for service to have it replaced. Do not try yourself.

That most probably seems to be a future issue with your color wheel, it's starting to go out, you need to identify which one you have before you purchase one, there are two kinds, one with a gold bearing and another one with a silver bearing
